At some point he's also going to have to start games and play his way into some form. Not starting over the weekend and then yesterday was a bit strange I thought. He's looked worse with the less games he's started.
  2. Yeah, I think it's fine to discuss the performances outside of the result. Think it's great the team can still pull out results currently, while things aren't quite clicking. The Champions League campaign is going incredibly well so far. As far as any individuals, particularly further up the pitch, I can't even be too upset with their performances at the minute. Think everything leading up to the final third is not working well enough to consistently put them in decent positions, and so we just can't get into any kind of rhythm or flow.

Honestly, the fact we have failed to get this man a clear shooting opportunity in and around the box is just pitiful. The team should be ashamed. There have been enough opportunities to do so, but so many times a cross is just whacked into the box, when he's dropped off into a bit of space where a simple cut back gets him a decent shooting opportunity. I'm hoping with Tino and Hall coming back in, more of these chances come as we stretch defences more with the added width. The guy has really overachieved so far as the team hasn't been great going forward at all.
  4. Honestly, he doesn't seem to be doing much thinking at all at the minute. Playing like his head's gone. Completely out of it mentally. Some really awful decision making. Serious question, but do we still have that person at the club that deals with the mental side of the game? He needs to get his mind right.
  5. I think when he's confident and certain of himself he's a very dangerous and effective player. Unfortunately, he does seem quite fragile mentally, and when his confidence slips all his worse traits are really amplified, as his composure goes out the window.
  6. Unfortunately, I do think he takes on stuff being said about him for sure.
  7. True, but it's just unfortunate really. There's so much talk of him not doing enough, but if anything, he's trying to do too much! Every time he got the ball today, head down driving into traffic carelessly, ball going everywhere. Losing it every time. The coaches need to get a hold off him and get him to calm down, and stop trying to take on everyone himself. This is not how he's going to get back on track and turn things around.
  8. In my opinion, try hard, prove a point Anthony Gordon is a mess of a player. Over complicating things, flying in rashly and getting sent off. Just so chaotic. Questioning his ability and commitment gets him too fired up I reckon. For some players this works, but he's not one of those sorts at all I don't think. Needs to calm down, keep things simpler and let the game come to him.
  9. Really not sure this was a good idea. Seemed like tonight he was overdoing things and trying way too hard. I don't think when he's in that mindset of trying to prove himself he plays his best at all. It just gets incredibly messy. Needs to cut out the noise and be told to calm down and stop forcing the issue.
  10. Pretty certain Barnes starting won't make much of a difference as things stand. There's too much not going right with the way the team is functioning when they have the ball. No point singling out Gordon currently.

The team stinks going forward currently. No cohesion or rhythm in any of the build up play. Think the wingers are suffering the most from this, all stemming from the poor full back play going forward. Murphy is most threatening as he just whips it in as soon as he has a chance. Gordon and Elanga should be doing the same for the meantime. Now is the time to keep things simple. But they aren't. Wish someone, anyone would tell them this. Oh well.
  12. It's become very apparent we need better alternative and more dynamic options at full back, as it's a big part of how the team progresses the ball up the pitch. Alternatively, we'll need to go a lot more direct while Trippier and Burn are playing and stop faffing about with the ball at the back as they are both giving it away so much trying to force passes that aren't there because they can't take the ball past anyone even when the space is there to do so. Hope Howe makes the adjustment for Brentford.
  13. Our back 4 and goalie are even more dominant in this competition. Have bailed us out loads. Nice we're at least doing so well in the Champions League. The way the team is playing though, I think we're going to be stuck in mid table in the Prem till we get our full backs back, and they'll need to stay fit.
  14. No idea either, but it's tragic. They never get a convincing foothold of a game. The effort it takes to put together any kind of move through the midfield is unbelievable. The ball carrying ability of the full backs is more important than we could ever have imagined in kick starting a lot of our build up. With Trippier and Burn we lose that completely and we look incapable of building from the back. Genuinely think we need to play hoof ball more often to bypass the midfield until Tino and Hall are fully back or I'm not sure we'll improve results in the Prem.
  15. Honestly ... does anyone? The disease is spreading. Even Woltemade struggled to keep it today. Completely lost faith in the midfield three. I think what we're all learning is that the full backs might be the most important factor in the team functioning with any sort of cohesion.
  16. Trippier another one that just kicks it to the opposition every time. This team is really poor with the ball man. It's incredible.
  17. Murphy trying to chop back into midfield when he had Trippier free down the right. God this team is infuriating.
  18. Have a lot of sympathy for the front three. Such a chore getting the ball to them in decent positions.by the rest of the team. It's actually embarrassing.
  19. Good subs ahead of the weekend. Very interested to see how Miley gets on here. Looks like he's playing more forward though.
  20. It's a weak point of his. Wish he'd just go with his first thought in those situations. Tends to dwell on the ball too long.
  21. Team needs serious firat touch training man. Number of times it bounces off players. Murphy guilty that time.
  22. Bilbao have stopped pressing as much surprisingly enough. Suits us perfectly. Taken a lot of pressure off.
