  1. Mind when he does fail and the Palace fans do turn on him, we have to reverse our tact and laugh at what a bunch of thick, deluded prats they are and point to how Pardew once finished 5th in Premiership.

I like the cut of this guy's jib.

  2. Don't think McClaren gets enough credit for the owner spending money.

The fact he turned us down a number of times, and seemed to seek assurances before coming was key. He alluded to it when he joined, when he mentioned that Ashley's message at the last game convinced him to get on board.

We have signed some good players, and we have a manager that is not destructive. I think he will do well just by virtue of those two points alone.

  3. The teenager comes across as a player who already has his feet firmly on the ground and after playing 60 games for Northampton, scoring 13 times, he already has a taste for first-team action.

That is reflected when the striker is asked if seeing Steve McClaren in the stands at the reserve game was a good sign.

He added: “That is going to boost anybody to see him in the stands.

“Even if the manager is there or not you have to play your best.

“It will always get back to him if you play well, as it will if you play badly!

“So it can be neither here nor there if he is in the stands you just have to keep playing.”

Toney’s task will now be to give McClaren another headache when it comes to his selection plans.

However, he is yet to hold serious talks with the head coach and said his journey is only just beginning.

He said: “The Football League is different to Premier League.

“It is a fantastic standard here.

“People love getting on the ball, it is one or two touches and it is fast moving and high-tempo.

“I am looking forward to pushing on to the first team and hopefully I can squeeze my way in there.

“I have mostly spoken with Peter Beardsley at the minute because I am with the under-21s.

“I am sure the gaffer will speak to me soon and let me know what is going on.

“You just have to keep playing football and keep myself happy.”

McClaren at the games already. Good.

Also seems the style of play under Beardsley is decent. Good.

  4. Oh wow. Forgot about this guy. Was good for Swansea that one season. Not a bad move at all.

Can't believe he's just 27 still. Seems to have been around forever.

  5. Cisse would kill it as CF in a strictly passing team play style where he just needs to be on end of chances to bury them first time.

Precisely. You are exactly right. I know I'm hard on the guy, but it's just because the fit is so bad, and it's extremely frustraiting to watch. It's hurting our play so much a lot of times.

  6. I think Cisse will look good in a team that's functioning far better than we are now.

I actually agree. We are not good enough to have him playing upfront for us.

At the same time he isn't good enough for the way our team functions either.

We don't pass the ball well enough to only really have him involved in and around the box, and so need him to get it a bit further away from there and help link our play. He is bastardly bad at it though. Just rotten. it definitely wasn't that way when he first joined either, but I think that was down to Ben Arfa carrying the ball further up the pitch so often, and then we would play through Ba on the left as well, who linked play better.

  7. Sissoko is cool man. Just jesting. He is extremely frustrating at times though, but it's because I expect so much more of him.

He'll look a lot better once others start raising their games, and taking some of the weight of responsibility off of his shoulders.

We really do need to get Cisse out though. He makes so much of what we try to do look worse.

  8. "Love Aarons, can't wait to play him next season" Kaka man, da hell.

He will play this season, but from the pine, with the odd start also

Fact is, he hasn't played enough, or really proven enough to just be handed the gig.

Certainly not with Thauvin and Sissoko available for those wide positions.

People need to pump the brakes with these kids man. Just chill.

Both he and Ayoze will have their time for sure. Right now I like them as options off the bench, but they should be brought on every game, and then also get starts here and there also.

We need a more dangerous and viable bench afterall. We have grown so accustomed to not having one, but with these we shall.

  9. The guy's left foot looks sweet man. Definitely want him on the left, whipping stuff in. Especially for Mitrovic. He will need that.

    No place for Aarons ?

Of the bench as a spark plug, with no pressure.

The more he shines the more we can then bring him into the team next season, once we sell Sissoko for millions.

    Very simple really.

  10. Maybe if we can't get Aymen we'll go for Sakho on loan.

You remember how we kept getting linked with Balotelli on loan? Maybe it's Sakho we are after.

Probably some itk sent a picture of Sakho to a journo, and they've reported it as Balotelli. Racists.

  11. From the clips, he actually looks quite strong and certainly fast. I couldn't see a 'physicality' problem.

It feels like there's a fair bit of underlying 'ego' in that farewell speech to Marseilles. If he can knuckle down and prove himself to his team mates, then he could well be a success here.

It's clear from the clips that he fights to stay on his feet when tackled. The guy is going to be far more suited. Think he'll be really good.

  12. Think it's first time I've seen a player bring his Mrs to the unveiling. Having seen her, makes perfect sense.

She must be a very loyal and supportive woman.

He will go very far. Lucky man.
