He would have done well for us. He holds it up well, is good in the air, and has good movement and mobility.
He's got how many one on ones in the first two games. Missed a clear one against Chelsea, before getting another one that led to Courtois' sending off. Caught us the same way too.
Looks really good.

AP gives the impression of having real "favourites", which is unsettling when they appear to not necessarily be the best or most effective players. The treatment of Jedinak and Ledley, in particular, is wrong.
Oh s***!
That COLBACK stuff man.
Can't believe they're smelling his rank deceit already.
Need to visit that forum more regularly now. Pure jokes.
It's crazy because I remember really liking Jedinak last season, and he's been completely ousted.
-
Yeah Coutinho is just fine IMO.
They need to play Origi in one of the wide positions, so they have someone that is looking to get in behind consistently with pace.
They seem to be missing that at the minute.
-
He hasn't even started doing the real crazy stuff and they're already panicking
Man this is going to be a hot mess. Can't wait to delight in it.

I thought that AP got it completely wrong with his substitutions yesterday. Surely if you are going to take players off, you need to replace them with at least someone as competent. Taking Bolasie, Zaha and McArthur off was mental, unless it was because McArthur had been booked (unfairly), in which case Jedinak could have replaced him. Much and Lee are simply not good enough for the Premier League. Wickham looked OK, but his work rate is nowhere near Murray's.He doesn't chase lost causes and if we are to play one up top, it has to be Glenn.Having said that, I am not a fan of the two wide players and a lump up front. Even if the target man wins the ball, there is no-one within 30 yards of him to support him. We also have someone in Gayle who can only play in a 4-4-2 and who will score goals alongside Murray. How many games have they actually played together?

He claimed bolasie wasn't fit enough.
Next week the fans will start complaining about Bolasie's conditioning and in weeks to come his weight ...
-
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan ... if he joins them and starts scoring that would be really annoying.
-
Happy it's going to be the team he's done well for previously.
They probably won't recognise him though. Sure Pardew has deteriorated at least another 25% of his ability since then.
-
In actuality I think Pardew was happy to have Carr buy a bunch of foreginers he could claim he knew nothing about.
Why? Because as soon as things went pear shaped he could just blame them all for their DNA, or for not caring, or for not understanding the area.
Man it was a bunch of nonsense. The guy was a class A conman. Sad times.
-
So this is the thing for me ... McClaren has come in and managed to convince the hiercarchy or whatever to buy higher calibre players and it's happening.
I blame Pardew for so many things man. The guy was just an idiot. He was too busy arguing irrelevant points like more locals, more passion, more better DNA, more English that he the whole thing didn't work man.
He didn't know enough about players in other markets to argue convincingly to go for more high profile players that he really believed in. He would have been trying to cover his backside and not wanted any culpability unless he was getting his Darren Bents, James Tomkins and Steve Sidwells.

The flood gates will open soon, and there will be no recovery.

Man City set to sign defender Otamendi in £31m deal #MCFC http://www.itv.com/news/update/2015-08-18/man-city-set-to-sign-31m-argentine-defender/ …
(think most of the 'fee' will be a write-off of what is owed for Negredo)
Thought he was off to Man United?!
Are they really going with Smalling and Blind this year?! Nuts.
-
De Bruyne just confirmed he'll be staying at Wolfsburg this season.
Expecting him to join Villa tomorrow then, and then Man City by Thursday.
-
I'm cool with Carr's work, especially when I glance around and see what other teams typically do in the window.
Swansea do a hell of a job, but really everyone else is very inconsistent and typically have far more busts than we do.
-
Oh snap ... my bad
Thought you had to click it first. That's how I remembered it, as I have already rinsed mine, and it paid off big style
-
How do you play a wildcard?
I go to make transfers, then it says it will cost me X amount of points if I click confirm transfers. Shouldn't 'use wildcard' be before this stage? Don't want to confirm it to find out I lose a lot of points from my already pathetic score.
You have to click the Wildcard button first!
It's at the top of the page when you first click transfers I/e/ just above the picture of your team of current players.

He's out of his depth, or rather NUFC and everything about it is too big an obstacle for him. He's at a club whose fans are utterly downbeat and pessimistic about everything and everyone and with good reason, whose transfer policy is ridiculous and whose owner only wants survival and maximum exposure for his sports stores.
McClaren is a good coach with a seemingly good backroom team around him, a coach with obvious ambition. But NUFC just isn't right for him and he isn't right for us. We will struggle to finish top ten this season and may even flirt with relegation. And then what about next season? Maybe finish 10th or 8th?
NUFC needed a whole new turnaround. A brave and exciting manager who wouldn't have a Colback or Obertan even in reserves never mind the first-team, someone who can excite fans and make them believe and the squad needs at least 100m of money spent on it. The signings thus far are all an unknown quantity and are as likely to fail than succeed.
It will be a continuation of Pardew, without the smugness, bull s***, crazy defeats and total tactical blackouts. Top 10 is our best hope under McClaren.
Well, bowl me over, where do I sign for that season ticket...
I'm no footy expert so I'm no as clued up as others but none of our new signings excite me or make me feel like we are making massive inroads. In fact, we are are as far away player and squad wise from where we need/must be as we have been under Ashley post Hughton. We desperately need a genuine PL goalscorer, a commanding experienced PL centre-back, cover in goal of decent quality, a LB and cover at FB and genuine width for the flanks.
We have Cisse to rely on as our only genuine PL goalscorer, and he is hot and cold. Colo is shot and this new fella is only young and will need time. Hadieria is young and not ready and we need cover for Janmaat. We have no width at present either. Aarons is young and inexperienced and Obertan is f***ing s***. Sissoko is not a winger.
The fact Colback and Anita are starting and there is no place for Perez is also alarming from McClaren. Its Pardew level s*** to be honest.
Jesus Christ, we've played 2 games!
An extraordinaire diatribe.

Benteke 3 bonus points.
Up to 70 points now
-
Yeah, going to be some bad days ahead. They really need to improve rapidly.
-
Think Liverpool really should have got Berahino rather than Benteke. Would have fit their style so much better, though I do think Benteke will do well enough.
-
Used my wildcardlast week, and everyone I brought in either scored or assisted. Really happy with that.
64 points this week. Waiting on potential Benteke or Clyne bonuses.
-
-
Had to score that second goal man! Also messed up the Clyne assist. Annoying!
-
The negativity has really dumbfounded me
We were denied the thrill of watching Ben Arfa by a complete charlatan, and now it seems we are correcting that, people are complaining about a "volatile" French winger
Mehdi Abeid joins Panathinaikos

The "manager" watched those two performances and thought nah, doesn't deserve any more games, soon after. How does that happen?!
