Marseille fans responding to this thread in their droves saying they don't want to sell/want an outrageous price. Pretty good sign
They can buy Lloyd Kelly with the proceeds -

Headbutt guy not getting invited back then

Looked decent in the euros but very much the definition of a mixed bag for Lyon

Everyone at it

PSR died as a serious concept with this Hotel/Womans team nonsense.
Im not a hater of PSR in general and think things could be quite grim without it but it feels like we’ve crossed the Rubicon of allowing teams to circumvent it.
Sticking to the rules gets you nowhere, starting to feel we should try and burn the whole thing to the ground.

THB is a bit of weird one, captain of the u21s but seemingly little hype even with his England call up. £19m is peanuts for a young England international, is he just not very good?

I get they’ll pay more and obviously 99% of footballers would rather live in London but for, in theory, the most powerful owners in world football we haven’t half been lightweights for quite some time.
The long contract thing they do is like an extra thing to ensure you always get your man. No one will turn down 7 years on Premier League money. -
Hope they fucking fold

I do agree with the points that we open ourselves up to drawn out transfer sagas and paying inflated fees with the type of targets we seem to be aiming at. That said I think we’ll see movement next week and you’d hope the club will quickly move into other targets if the selling club won’t budge on price and we won’t go any higher.
It’s clear we want game ready players and that means going after players that teams don’t want to sell (or at least want full value for) and that will always end in a saga of sorts for the most part.
We aren’t Liverpool, Chelsea etc where we can overpay and bully with our PSR headroom and the margins for a signing not working precludes us from too many unknowns at cheap price like Brighton or similar to after.

Shame Carsley couldn’t cope with the press attention (can’t blame him to be honest). Think he’d have done well longer term with England.

Can we please stop citing that bald nonce like he's a credible source.
We may as well post Frank Chippa or Burnsie tweets
To be fair to him the last time he was actually right about something it involved a transfer from Burnley -

Surely a better team would have taken a punt on him at that price?
Even being older than he is, he would be a better option to bring off the bench than Callum done more work for DAZN than he has for Newcastle in the last year fucking Wilson.
Played less games than Wilson did during a season long loan to Nice. -

Ornstein saying £55m+£7.5m still below Brentford's valuation. Almost at walk away territory IMO.

Although you obviously had Keane at the mackems, but I assume he doesn’t count as he was ‘appointed’ in the Champo.
edit - and similarly Mick McCarthy
McCarthy was born in Yorkshire too -

Anyone remember CWarr the NUFC ITK OG? Feels like a lifetime ago

Yep Souness the worst for me. Pardew and Bruce were bad but the rot was already deep.
Souness wrecked us.

Didn’t they announce something similar last season but never actually did it.
