I’m a reflector and I’ve been through everything that’s been published and shared on here and I come to the same conclusion that this is going to happen. With Ashley at the helm our brand is toxic, and if there was little chance of this happening PCP would have wanted to be disassociated as quickly as possible and the NDA would be dead in the water. I still think the curry house was the pivotal moment to this happening. If they’ve agreed the high level principles of the deal it will be in the hands of the lawyers to draw up the many contracts etc that will be required. Still reckon this new limited company is part of the process but as has been mentioned on here they’re not going to come out and admit it as that all but confirms the deal is done. It’s really difficult to predict when this will happen. Having worked on projects before where NDAs are signed sometimes the communication piece can take time due to getting stuff signed off etc. Either way I doubt we will here a thing till Ashley is back from his jollies. I’d expect any press release to pay tribute to his time at the club etc etc. So we just have to wait I guess. Which is a shame because it consumes so much of my time trawling the internet for the slightest nugget of information.

I agree that it’s probably a done deal now too. I reckon the curry house photo was carefully orchestrated to coincide with the fact they’d shook on a deal. I also reckon we will use the loan market to our advantage in the window too as the players we bring in will be to do a job, ie keep us in the Premier League and might not be part of the “project” vision. Do what we need to do this year, and have a good go next season. I’ve followed Newcastle for over 30 years and I’ve lost count the amount of times that line has been rolled out, but with some sensible spending and new impetus under new owners maybe this time we have reason to believe.

It’s funny how he’s came full circle though. From talking about putting the cart on the horse and making our own luck to having nothing but wallpaper and a reluctance to invest. He’s probably clinging on to the hope someone’s gonna gazump Amanda’s offer and when he realises he’s shit out of options he’ll take whatever is on the table. I agree with a few of the comments though. This is probably more or less a done deal and he’s just making sure the exit strategy is on his terms......

It’s quite telling for me that nothing at all has been broken by any official channels. There are lots of assumptions that a bid has been made. Nothing at all from the club or Ashley’s lawyers. There are no synergies at all with this and the Barry Moat saga. There hasn’t even been confirmation that PCP are bidding (I know there’s now photographic evidence in the public domain of them meeting). I think this is definitely end of days for Ashley. The appearance of Amanda Staveley at the Liverpool game and subsequent photographing of her with Ashley last week will definitely be on purpose. It gives us a little hope that things are moving on and at some point in the future there’ll be a carefully managed statement which pays tribute to Mikes time at the club and announces the sale. I’d imagine it would even take a few days for them to agree the content of a press release. So you never know. Last week could have been to seal the deal, put it back in the hands of the lawyers and maybe, just maybe there’ll be some news before Christmas saying there’s now exclusivity and deal is being ratified with the FA. I would imagine that the value of the deal will also be undisclosed if Ashley isn’t walking away with a massive profit as well.....
