  1. Think he’d do well there, but if it’s a case of being closer to home, Plymouth is only a couple of hours closer to his hometown than Newcastle is. It’s tucked away about as far into the SW as you can get without straying into Cornwall. I say this as someone who lives in Devon and it takes fucking forever to get anywhere
  2. What a story - son goes on loan to his late dad’s former club, takes up his retired number, last game of the season scores a hattrick and celebrates in front of the stand named after his dad
  3. That should be right, we need to gain 7 points, or them drop 7, so 6 point swing plus the point on Thursday would do it. Howay Leicester
  4. Fair play to TRex he’s done alright today
  5. No chance we’re relying on this lot getting something against Liverpool. No excuses if we don’t blow them away at home
  6. Almost need to approach it like Arsenal did yesterday. Get through the early period, grow into the game, let our quality show over the 90.
  7. Can't argue with this. He'll still start plenty of games next season when we're in Europe/cups, but should definitely be transitioning to full super-sub.
  8. Yeah Brighton are going to be a very stern test. Thinking in terms of managers, absolutely believe that Howe has enough about him to get the points needed out of Allardyce, Smith & Lampard. We've shown even when we don't start games well he's switched on and will adjust accordingly.
  9. If Longstaff is out for the season that does present a challenge. Our midfield hasn't seemed to click yet without him in it. Not many games left to experiment but I'm confident Howe will find a solution against Leeds
  10. Fucking good - let them. The days of us being a soft touch are over, if you beat us it's going to be a battle.

    Alexander Isak

Preference would be to stick him back in the centre and have Wilson off the bench as and when needed. If we do want to persist with both of them starting, I'd like to see a 4-4-1-1 - Bruno & Joelinton played well as a double pivot, I want to say in the second half against Southampton? Might be misremembering that, but it was fairly recent. Think it could work.
  12. Assume he's talking about the games around the cup final - but even then we kept picking up points and weren't getting beaten every game.
  13. Didn't he get an assist for Isak not too long ago? They're not at the level they were but not sure they're that bad - as Smal said he really should've had another assist today.
  14. Would really like to see Wilson back on the bench for this. Not because he deserves it at all, but having him and Isak as a plan B is huge when we're chasing something. When we started with it today it really seemed to hamstring us in terms of bringing this up a level from the bench.
  15. No need for this like - everyone is entitled to post their opinion whether you agree with it or not, that's kind of the point of a forum. Personally I think we'll do it with the games we've got left - there's every chance luck completely goes against us (a bit like today with all of those near chances) but that's out of our hands. If we play like we have all season against Leeds, Brighton, Leicester and Chelsea there are enough points there for us.
  16. West Ham doing us a real solid there. Keeps more pressure on Man Utd when Liverpool inevitably keep stumbling their way to 3 points
  17. His worst game for us - he’s not looked quite his best since the ankle injury. Confident we’ll have him back to his best after the summer
