  1. Paraguay game 3-0. Beardsley was superb but Hoddle pulled the strings in a majestic performance.
  2. You're right, it was. How do you know? I remember a Geordie chap used to come in my club , where i worked behind the bar for the monthly League meeting from Bilton Ajax. We always had a chat about Newcastle as I always wore a Newcastle top, if my memory serves me right, he may have smoked a cigar occasionally. Think my mate at work managed a team there also.
  3. My Cousin lived on Leamington Road near the A46 and my uncle lived on Birches lane. My cousin and Tim played for Bilton and my uncle ran the team so he played a small part in Flowers doing well, I suppose. Bilton Ajax rings a bell for some reason.
  4. Spain v Norn Iron 82 another fucking awesome match.
  5. Argentina v France 78 , fucking stunning game.
  6. They both lived in Kenilworth and played for a team called Bilton. I know all of those areas, Bilton is in Rugby.
  7. Ally McLeod holding his head in his hands during the draw with Iran. Agree about Cubillas, great player.
  8. 82 easily the best I've seen. The quality of the football played was top banana. The best Brazil side I've seen, 3 home nations, a great to watch French side too. 90 also was good but not the quality but Bobby's England providing some great moments. Never forget Platt's volley . I enjoyed the 78 WC too. Arie Haan knocking goals in from 35 yards and the ticker tape and Archie Gemmill's goal against Holland.
  9. I think the 82 World Cup and Italia 90 are the best tournaments I saw. 82 and 94 for me. 94 only because we got to see a bunch of the games live, and that Romanian team was something special to watch. That Romania-Argentina game... 94 probably my least favourite> the final was dogshit, but there were some incredible games, although the Sweden-Romania quarterfinal really did piss me off. But to be fair, if I didn't attend the games, it probably wouldn't be near my favorite though. I guess it is down to England not being there.

  11. that was one of the stories, as was the theory that varadi had been shagging keegans Mrs (unlikely if you saw Mrs Varadi), more likely was the idea that we had a little lad called beardsley coming in. . Imre's father, Oli, was far more talented.

  13. When I was a little older, he and Platini became my favorites. Still remember that shit game against Italy in the '82 world Cup. Brazil really should have won the World Cup that year. And worse, the France-Germany semifinal. The most horrendous call in World Cup history when Shumacher took out Battiston. Took out? He almost garrotted him
  14. I used to watch him play in goal when he was a kid, he played in the same team as my cousin. Warwickshire?
  15. Kevin Keegan. Even as far back as Wembley 1974. Absolutely captivating personality.
  16. Will Chelsea even want Rooney now?

And yet you're happy with them Aye i've been so happy with his previous appointments that i never want to see him appoint anyone again hence why i'll just stick with Pards thanks. He's the f***ing worst one man:D Actually Shearer was but at least he did that with the right intentions. Not only were the intentions different, but Shearer was a complete noob at management. Took a massive gamble and it failed. Pardew has been a below average knacker throughout his career. Agreed.

this, is there honestly still anyone on here who doesn't believe he deserves the sack based purely on his performance over the last year? i know brett is one but is there anyone else? would love to see a poll like I can think of 3 who? inochi, ian w, brett? i don't think ian w and inochi would keep the fella like they just seem to revel in being contrary (might be wrong)....someone else is a bit pro-pards, happy face? By the way his performances from last season do deserve the sack just for the record, but i've just always maintained i wouldn't trust Ashley to hire someone to make me happy if he was ditched. Onnce decision was made to keep him, i decided to give him another season and another chance. So actually i do think in general Pardew's performances from last season should have earned him the sack under normal circumstances, but this club hasn’t got normal circumstances Talk about a contradiction of a post. If you are happy with a bloke you think should have been sacked , what difference does it make who is appointed? Because there's a difference, if i was a Spurs fan i'd have wanted Harry Redknapp sacked and AVB brought in, however i wouldn't have wanted Redknapp sacked if they weren't looking to upgrade. In our case we wouldn't be looking to upgrade, it would be someone like/deffo JFK, so i'd rather stick? I think you would be hard pressed to find a manager worse than Pardew tbh . I've actually named our next manager in my post if Pardew gets fired so i wouldn't say i'm hard pressed. He certainly isn't worse. I would guarantee you wouldn't see the cowardly tactics and performances that Pardew has been manufacturing. Incredible that you can be so sure Joe would be better. Not sure what the basis is for that conclusion. Have you watched us lately. Good grief. Yes, do you know who Joe Kinnear is? Yes, he's a shit has been manager but is no worse than the current manager. But he is not a coward unlike our current manager.
