Every club in the North East (Falcons Rugby, Eagles Basketball, Durham Cricket) received fantastic sponsorship deal from the failed institution known as Northern Rock. Those mentioned in your reply didn;t get the money from NTL tho, that Shepherd organised.

The club has generally been rubbish since the 50s with a few highs and many lows. The current state of play is that all the money coming into the club is not being spent on the club, all money except transfer money vanishes from site. Ashley has done a cracking job for himself by creating a team that can manage on the bare minimum while all the TV and commercial money goes elseware. The club has been hollowed out from the inside. Anyone trying to tell me Ashley has turned NUFC around needs a kicking.

Well, from a business prospective it makes sense, from a fan point of view and wanting to at least build a team that can play and hold its own in the prem its disastrous. Constantly cycling and flipping players for money. Nothing ever imporves and the team never really imporve. Its just steady as she goes while Ashley uses the club to advertise his tat and he has a little but of fun on the way playing football manager.

Its pretty pointless unless he has injury problems that the club dont want to deal with. Cheaper to fob him off. Not my opinion just trying to get my head round it.

From last accounts. So salaries to club income is most likely down again.
