  1. "If I was Owen I wouldn't sign a new contract." WTF? How unprofessional was that? What sort of pathetic excuse for a commentator spouts horse shit like that.
  2. Bassong skipping around with both hands up for a full five seconds to show the ref that he didn't foul. Such an entertaining match for all the wrong reasons.
  3. come now lets get a goal and keep this scoreline respectable. I fear what these boards are going to look like for the next two weeks. Especially if we don't get the.. umm.. "wow" signing.
  4. fuck I don't want to join the cum-fest but Arsenal are just playing fantastically. Probably be their best performance of the season. Too bad for us.
  5. Off the post! To be fair, that would've been jammy to the extreme if it had gone in. Think we're actually controlling the game in the second half now.
  6. Jonas. Even when he fucks up he goes and makes it right again.
  7. The close control/passing/spacing of some of these Arsenal players is just fucking ridiculous. It's painfully easy to see why they're a better team than we are.
  8. Given skins two players! Okay, fuck the scoreline, between this and Ashley I'm entertained now.
  9. LOL@Ashley guzzling that pint. I think that's filled my entertainment quota for this match. I suppose owners are allowed to bring drinks into the stands then?
  10. Both looking good. We just look s**** without Milner though. That was a wind-up, right?
  11. We have three young keepers with potential behind two first team keepers. Obviously one of them had to go. People with better footballing brains than us have seen them extensively and made the decision that Krul is the least promising of the three. I trust their judgment, so I don't mind this one bit.
  12. Ameobi shouldn't even be there for a start Give gangsta Nile a run out instead of that f***ing poor excuse for a footballer And Guthrie I would have dropped and stuck Bassong there I'd sooner have Shola over Smith, still. Is it just me, or does Shola look more mobile than usual? Aside from blocking Owen's shot, Shola is actually doing better than I expected. Some nice flick-ons there. Still shit though.
  13. Guthrie - Jonas - Owen all making contributions. Zoggy not geling with the team. Butt horrendus. Coloccini actually defending fairly well, all things considered.
  14. Arsenal are playing like champions. We're... not. To be fair, this is the best I've seen Arsenal play in a long, long while. 4 points from our first three games isn't the worst of returns I suppose. I'm not bothered about the result as much as I am about Enrique limping off, yet another first team injury for us. Change the owner, change the manager, change the players, but I guess you just can't change good 'ol rotten Newcastle luck. Oh, and you doom-mongers starting to crawl out of the woodwork? Do me a favor and gag yourself for 36 hours. We'll talk then.
  15. Park Chu-Young on a flight to France to seal a last minute deal with AS Monaco. This is for the... umm... two other people here who seemed to be interested in what he's been doing lately.
  16. Given Beye Coloccini Taylor Enrique Jonas Butt Guthrie Zog Owen Ameobi That doesn't look bad at all actually! Nobody playing out of position and Ameobi is the only one I wouldn't want anywhere near our first team. Feeling decent about the game again.
  17. No Beye as well damn it, back to good 'ol Newcastle again eh?
  18. From Youtube he looks like EXACTLY what we need right now. Then again... Youtube.
  19. I'm sure we couldn't get a work permit for him and I'm sure the mackems also tried and failed. We had signed Friedel on a short term loan, and we only sent him back when we discovered he wasn't going to get a permit for a long term deal. Apparently work permits aren't an issue because he has an Italian passport. Gonzalez does? Yeah

  21. Never seen him/didn't even know he existed till five minutes ago, so can't really comment. I assume he's our creative midfielder for the year? EDIT: From what I can make out of his Spanish stats, scored 13ish goals for Danubio in 2006-2007 and about 7 in 2007-2008 before he left for Monaco on loan. Not bad if that's all from midfield
  22. This is from the Uruguayan El Pais, not the Spanish paper of the same name. Not sure what that means about its trustworthiness.
  23. Hehe it's not, it could be Carlisle United currently or Berwick Rangers, they've just moved like the Rams did in "Football", you should be familiar with this concept being a yankee doodle dandy and all that ? It would be a difficult one for me because deep down who would you be supporting ? I've fallen off Football so hard, I read that and wondered when Derby moved. That's a question for a Ravens fan, or a Browns fan. They'll have a lot of insight there. God, a Newcastle and Cleveland Browns fan. If that guy exists, he had crows feet at 12. When Arizona come to town to play St Louis, who do the locals support, the rams or the cardinals ? Outside of MK Dons we've not witnessed movement of franchises in football, but there again all major areas of the population are served with local teams, so there has been no need for it. None of my teams have relocated in my lifetime, so I don't know what ex fans do. But generally they're met with hostility. If what's happening in Seattle is any indication, most of the fans treat the team as if they no longer exist after a move. From what I've seen, moved franchises are treated with the most hostility of any team in the league when they return to their former homes for away games.
