Considering that we can out-money Everton and Pompey, and City is in turmoil, if its between those four we certainly have the best chance. Wouldn't hold my breath though.

Not all that bothered. I have confidence that we'll get at least a couple more in before the window closes. Aside from that, I think we'll be okay for a top 10 finish even if we sign nobody. Squad doesn't look that thin at all once we get Martins and/or Viduka back. (Aside from there being no cover in the fullback positions)

The more I think about it the more angry I am at the fucker. Even if he wasn't tapped up by Villa, there's no excuse for handing in the transfer request right now when he knows we're desperate for bodies.

It's quite possible that Villa have tapped him up and told him to wait on his transfer request until the last minute so they can get him on the cheap. If so, I hope we're prepared to let him rot in the reserves for 4 months if needed. Lots of clubs this window have shown their resolve in not getting bullied over transfers. Hope we do the same. This is, of course, assuming that Villa are even interested.
