  1. Now that we're into the third round, who wants to bet that we're getting Arsenal/ManU/Chelsea away?
  2. to be fair, they've had more than their share of luck today. we deserve some too.
  3. Every word of that post is wrong. Some of the passing in the second half was superb. They're lucky, simple as that. This match is nearly FM-esque in its utter unfairness.
  4. couldn't make it up really. Lad threw a 40m ball at an absolutely perfect angle into the box. Sloppy defending from our side but who can blame them, given the situation.
  5. f***ing s***. Oh well, at least I get 30 more minutes of footy to watch. lol, that probably was the best long throw in the history of football.
  6. Liked Shaw's response. Full of praise. Top guy. Thought he was Ruud Gullit for a few seconds.
  7. And I was right about to post "Isn't it great that we're actually slaughtering Championship sides now instead of grinding out 1-0 draws?" ...Stupid me. Oh well, still think we'll grab this one comfortably.
  8. Milner probably has the exact opposite problem. He's got a very good shot on him and I'd say his crossing is a lot better than it gets credit for, but he can rarely get into positions for good crosses/shots because of lack of pace.
  9. Mbia looked very good when we met Cameroon at the Olympics. Loads of energy on him, likes to thread passes and fire long-range efforts out of nowhere. Was Cameroon's biggest goal threat even though he was playing in a deep role.
  10. as long as ji-sungs at manu koreans won't care less about anyone else or any other PL club; he's their best player by a mile and is playing at the best team in the PL...if he moves the koreans will follow him wherever he goes, they'll forget manu overnight en mass True to a degree but if anyone has the marketability to match Ji-Sung in this country it's Chu-Young. Everyone knows he's shit now, but there's nothing Korean footy fans would like more than to see him come good again. Much like a few "prospects" we've had at Newcastle I suppose. Again, props to Wigan for trying. Personally, I think putting him abroad away from the local media, as well as club managers who insist on playing him out of position, could only be good for him. If he can overcome his mental issues the talent is still all there for the taking. That's a huge "if" though.
  11. I think once transfer deals drag on to mid august, you can reasonably expect them to last untill deadline day (as is evidenced by the relative lull in transfer activity over the past couple of weeks for all Premiership clubs.) I wouldn't be pressing the "OMFG we're not signing anything" button quite yet. Team Ashley/KK hasn't let me down so far, so I'm willing to trust them when they say they're trying to get three more in.
  12. Darren Fletcher, Man United's top scorer. Oh well, this just completely fucks up my fantasy league team now...
  13. Wigan have apparently sent their chief executive over to South Korea to negotiate a new shirt sponsorship and staduim naming rights with a South Korean company, and look into buying South Korean striker Park Chu-Young for 4 mil. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=39852.msg1378068#msg1378068 I like it when teams try to break ManU's stranglehold over the market over here... Don't think a lot of people will be tossing out their glory hunter shirts for Wigan of all places, but I like it that they're trying.
  14. Looks like Micah Richards has takena pretty serious knock... Seems unconscious, can't even put him on a stretcher apparently. EDIT: Leaving on a stretcher with a neck brace. Still unconscious. Hope he's all right.

    Spurs in crisis !

agreed on all counts you think our squad looks a lot better as it is right now? you what? isn't he saying we've a more balanced squad/team rather than an average team with a couple of star names? that's how i read it anyways... i think he's on about the type of squad rather than the size, i.e. we're adding quality across the squad albeit at a rate i'm not so happy about maybe i've read it wrong Nope, you are correct sir. After reading those calamity threads on the Spurs boards, apparently Ramos has a fondness for playing players out of position... The Spanish Big Sam?

    Spurs in crisis !

Have to admit, I was actually happy when I heard that the Mackems won. Them winning one more game isn't going to change their final position much, but Spurs' top 4 dream getting torpedoed like this is just priceless. I feel like a bad fan now heh What a shithole Spurs have dug up for themselves, they've spent nearly 50 mil or so on players, but they still need three~four more players spread across all areas of the pitch to be a functional team. Comedy gold. \\ Actually think our squad right now looks a lot better as it is right now. Less big names, but it works better as a team. Who would have thought you'd ever be able to say that about a Newcastle team.

    Martins

I'm sure if he scores he'll take the yellow card and do the mask Careful what you wish for, fair play table!
  18. I find the EPL entertaining precisely because it's ten strong, quick bastards on each side hoofing the ball around and beating the shit out of each other to get it.
  19. if Jonas gets injured for any significant amount of time as a result of this I'm going to be a very sad panda.
  20. Aye, very impressed with the new ticketing system revamp. Used to be a complete pain in the ass. Should make things easier for me the... errrr... more or less one time a year I get to use it
