It's obviously just a bit of a pisstake.

Singing the Glazers one outside of the context of Old Trafford when they're not our rivals is embarrassing.

They absolutely are our rivals now, especially when we play them. The City version is superb and Man U should have it thrown at them by every team they play, as payback for the mocking their support dished out at various stadiums for 20 years. Payback time.

Geordie boys are on the beers duh duh...

    Dear me, that’s fucking shite.

I think there was a video going around with some lads singing a version with Ritchie in it mind.

Jesus, we have some doylems in our ranks mind. It’s not difficult to work out what the proper words are.

This version we've got of Man City's 'Old Trafford is falling down', why sing "Ritchie's here for ten more years"? Odd

Surely you misheard that?  It’s “Glazers staying 10 more years”….

Reading about fans who've hardly been to matches getting tickets for this match and the club organising it badly, the usual faces not being there, full of daytrippers etc

    How is this happening?

How is the ticket allocation handled for your games in Europe? Ours is a fucking impossibility if you haven't been at almost every match since the year dot.

Although I guess you've been playing in grounds with larger allocations.

It's happening mainly because the ticketing has been handled shambolically this season. A system has been created whereby people who were nowhere to be seen two years ago are now getting tickets ahead of those who have been going for years through all of the hard times.

I have some sympathy for the hierarchy at the moment. The club has become an absolute monster again, like the 90s on speed, and it must be bewildering for them trying to keep up with the progress. But this cannot continue, & by the start of next season this has to be sorted. A proper loyalty system need to be in place for away matches so that dedicated away fans get priority over johnny-come-latelys who go for a day on the piss. And the ballot for home games needs binning off, with the queue brought back together with freedom of seat selection.

It was very uncomfortable, we were in 60 and it was jam packed.
If we’d have scored it would have been chaotic, one chance early on and it all surged forward, that was bad enough.

Saw people pissing in glasses, one lad pissed down some poor blokes leg….he got moved and just started pissing everywhere.

If that’s safe standing, keep it for me.

Dortmund don't have safe standing like the UK though, do they? It's literally just traditional terracing.

  7. Just reading the comments on NUSC twitter and seems like there was real chaos in the terraced away end. Some of our younger folk getting a taster of football in the 1980s. Except without the great atmosphere in this instance.

Anyone else cringe when they see social media posts along the lines of

"Love this, we've waited so long for it, what an experience, we'll be back"

    Small time

Probably watched the match through their phone camera as well.

I think I’ve just come to the conclusion the support is fucking shit in terms of songs and inability to create any kind of consistent vocal backing.

Not even sure there’s an answer anymore you either accept it, or become an armchair fan, think I’m leaning towards the latter.

We have morphed into a generic fanbase. Sing when you’re winning and mute when you’re not. Add in that we’ve got one of the most limited and plagiarised songbook and you have a pretty grim conclusion.

  10. I really think as many people as possible have to go to this NUST AGM coming up soon, with the club’s fan liaison person there. They need to be under no illusions about how pissed off people are with the ticketing situation.

The support getting absolutely slaughtered on twitter right now from those who were there. Haven't heard a single positive comment about it. The home support getting mixed reviews tbf so maybe not all they're cracked up to be either.

    Post some links?

Heard our fans on TV a few times second half but every time the camera panned to them they were just stood in silence. It might sound daft but I didn't recognise anyone from our support from the shots tonight. Who are some of these people?

I know what you mean by that. The people in our away end were not animated in the slightest. Clear as day that the away end was full of people who have probably barely been to an away game in their life. Pretty fucking infuriating tbh.

Like I say you could just about hear our fans a few times but I totally agree with you about the yellow wall and the rest of their fans were like the east stand on a bad day  I think that if we had some sort of organised singing end we would shit all over these ultra type crowds. I just hope something comes to fruition in the next few years.

Yeah I thought their support was mundane at best. Even the noise they made had an emptiness to it, totally out of sync with the rhythm of the game.

They can suck my balls with their moralising demonstration over money too. They’ve been challenging in the top two of their domestic league whilst also playing CL football consecutively for years. If their club had been ran like ours has for decades then they’d likely be receptive to oil money too, the patronising cunts.

Or most of the singers haven't got tickets and are in the bars, like at Wembley?

That’s the most likely explanation. If I hadn’t gotten glimpses of our away end when the ball went near them, I would have thought there was no away fans there based on the sound. Were the mics turned down or something?

Mind, I thought that their much-vaunted crowd weren’t that impressive either.

    Bollocks man

It's the 7k fans job to stand and sing their bollocks off for 90 minutes

Most of them would (should unless they're JCL'S )have watched far worse 11s than that in their time

And I’m one of those who have watched far worse and still got behind the team wildly. Think Derby away in 1992. I’d still be shouting myself hoarse tonight too,  despite being unhappy with the team selected. But it would be singing in defiance, not expectation. That team is simply too much of a gamble for me.
