  1. Yeah, I think if we do stay on the current site, and Leazes Terrace can't be moved, then we will end up with a design that looks like the Aviva. As long as the roof actually protects from the elements, goes all the way to the edge of the pitch perimeter, and is also designed to keep sound within the stadium it could look really special.

We also won because the no-hopers in the line-up made it to HT with the scores deadlocked and City's vulnerabilities exposed. If the game is there to be won after the break then I wouldn't object to someone like Gordon being brought on again this time, either.

Tbh, even since the City game (which featured ten changes from the league game prior) we've lost five of those who started/came on. So any talk of ten changes again is pretty much a moot point anyway; certainly one of Wilson/Gordon will have to play.

If we'd stuck with the same eleven in the 2nd half we'd have lost that game.

I just think that it's essential that we put out a strong midfield for this one.

I still don't have a clue how providing the fringe players with an opportunity and/or safeguarding our most frequently-featured players from injury or burnout = wanting to throw the game.

Like I said before, it's like no one watched the Man City game. I expect us to go to Old Trafford and be competitive regardless of the individuals selected.

We can afford to make changes to the back four, no argument about that. But also resting the likes of Bruno & Longstaff? Might as well just give Man U a quick call and tell them they can just go straight through, without us making the trip down there.

From what I remember (sit underneath away fans but reasonably towards the front) they were very good/loud in the first half but tailed off noticeably after they went behind.

Kind of understandably like as they were given very little to get behind on the pitch from that point.

Fair point. I did notice that too. Generally though, they were excellent, with loads of different songs.

Not going to lie, it annoys me no end how other fan bases have a varied songbook and ours are now just generic rip-offs of others’ songs.

It's all about right lads together, hence I'm big on seat relocations and get a loads of lads in leazes.

Not sure how many were at Chelsea away last season for final game, it was 90 mins of relentless noise. My mate who stands in mathew harding end said best u.k side atmosphere he seen in last 20 mins. That shows what happens when everyones up for it

Only problem is, that day it would have been full of people who got their tickets through ST holding mates. I seriously doubt it will be like that at Chelsea this season.

And yet I was sat in the Gallowgate and hardly heard them. Just our lot backing the team vocally. Maybe not so much singing but vocal support which is more important to the team.

This highlights you can get a completely different take on each individual game depending on where you are sat/stood in SJP.

My seat gave a good opportunity to hear both ends of the ground. Sure, the Gallowgate corner gave it their all throughout as usual but the main section of the Gallowgate were quiet as a mouse. City were much louder I’m afraid.

Because we can’t expect him to play every minute of every game ? When do you suggest giving him a rest ?

Not anytime soon, when there are so many big games coming thick and fast. He’s barely played 15 games in 3 months.

Here we are, still trophyless, and people want us to play a weak team for a game we have a brilliant chance of winning. Madness.

Aye we were sat underneath them for the Cup match last month. Thought they were excellent.

I would have hated being underneath them at that game. I was at the Gallowgate end of Level 7 and they sounded loud as fuck even from there.

It was a derby tbf.  Do they do similar away to Brighton on a Wednesday night?

Can only speak for their games that I’ve watched but their fans always seem loud to me. They completely outsang us in the cup game last month, that’s for sure. Their songbook is much better too.

    West Ham - dead

Man United - dead, okay its to be expected but it is against City.

Its more just the way it is and has been for a long time in the UK now except for the odd crest of a wave thing like Forest last season where its typically one of the worst places.

Sorry but that’s an awful take. Just because some other clubs have no atmosphere does not mean that we have to be the same.

City’s away support was class today btw. Once again nailing the myth that sustained success has killed the terrace culture in their support.

I think this is only going to continue getting a lot worse as more and more people become more and more pissed off too.

I will be attending the Trust AGM again in January and implore as many of you as possible to come along. The Head of Supporter Services will be there, and I’ll be directing a lot of questions at her - despite me having to ask it via the board. But it will be obvious I am directing it at the Club. Hopefully plenty more are willing to do the same?

It’s all a shambles and this was all called out by many at the start of the season. Totally unavoidable - but the Club have just dug their heels in. They are not infallible. And they need to be fucking told so.

Yeah I think I might rejoin the trust just to be there. The current situation is intolerable and has to change.

Seems to me like the home support who sat passively during the Ashley regime and were just happy for an afternoon out, have now decided they fancy doing aways since we became good.

Coupled with perhaps 20% corporate, staff and players family, the away end has turned to shite to match the home support.

Yep, my mate says it was much better in the away end at Wolves when they beat us 2 years ago just before the takeover went through.

I know it’s not an ideal away end for atmosphere and weather not great but away end seemed quiet on TV.

As I said in the memberships thread, my mate was there and said it was dire. He’s been going to every away game for years and is very, very pissed off with the way the nature of the away support has changed this season.
