we get enough of a squad together i would like the "kids" to go out there and get regular lower league football and then come back and be a more experienced player for it Fair enough, but i prefer him over Ameobi tbh.. Idiotic. You've seen half an hour at most of the lad. And i've seen Ameobi 219 times, and i much rather take the risk on the likes of Luque and Carroll then play him again. lets face it, he is simply never was and never will be good enough to play in the starting eleven in our team.

Darren Bent is by no means a target man We have an option to take a gamble with Carroll, or try and sign one those: Nikola Zigic, Jan Koller, Alan Smith (can work great as a target man) , Stefen Iversen (scored something like 20+ goals this season), etc.. But i don't think a player like Darren Bent will do us any good at the moment.. Darren Bent plays well upfront on his own for Charlton. Whilst not very big he's good in the air and is good at holding up the ball and bringing others into play. Bent can play as a target man very well if need be. As you say, he's deceptively good in the air and has a decent touch. A lot of people seem to be under the misconception that you have to be pushing 7 foot and/or built like a brick shithouse to be a target man. Oh, and if you're pacey you automatically must NOT be a target man. Not really (i.e Smith is barley 180 cm..) Its just the things a target man must have, to be better in the air then most of the people on the pitch,even better then the defenders you will face,to know when to hold and when to pass the ball,to have decent finishing + Heading thus, Viduka can classfied as a target man, Peter Crouch might not ...

Of course, those are just the first name's that come up to my mind but i am guessing with the budget we have we can get better.

Also No, No and err........No. Koller will do a decent job like, he is THE target man, i think they invented the whole target man thing just for him Smith is pretty decent, but we can get better + i don't think Manchester will let him go easy.. Stefen Iversen is the last option if we want a target man,he really improved since his Tottenham days and he's only 30, and turned to a classic target man/goal scorer type of player

I thought the whole thing about him breaking a rib was a joke..(with BBQ ribs and all..) As much as i disagree with his decsions, he still loves this club and i really hope he gets well soon..

I'll take him, add Samuel Eto'o who has only had good things to say about us, we can dream. Actually i think we can afford one of the two..

Actually he did play their in a couple or more games, as the "target man" in SAF's formation..

He can be a good player if given time to adapt, and we can't afford that Agree though, his rejection by Arsenal might be because they know he won't cut it here, Wenger hardley gives up on someone (he considers Adebayor a first team player ffs) and when he does its a sign of the player being not good enough..

I think it will be better if we keep him here and give him 7-10 games and try to improve him..

Wallcott was worth 12 million like.. Bale is very overated imo..decent player but nowhere near 10 million.. Baines will be a fantastic signing for us, just what we need and can both defened and attack..
