  1. The Mackems are in a decent run of form, I don't think they'll win tonight but I think a draw's probably on the cards. I think we'll get something from the next 3, we followed up our last dreadful result with a semi-decent performance and good point, some slight (naive) hope.
  2. Probably some player arguments after the game or a manager/player standoff, or something like that. Perhaps a naked Pardew headbutted Jonas?
  3. Whoscored.com do them. http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/615283/MatchReport/England-Premier-League-2012-2013-Newcastle-United-Liverpool Go on the match report tab and head down to Positional Report, there's a pitch graphic. Select player positions and voila. Perch, Sissoko and Cabaye ontop of each other I haven't the foggiest what Perch is doing there like. He's either neglected his defensive midfielder role or been told to get forward.

  5. Hope he does tbh, everyone knows my opinion on 4-4-2 and its suitability to this squad but its become quite clear Pardew doesn't have a clue how to set the team up outside of 4-4-2. Well, he did, but now can't seem to get it right at all
  6. Mole's right, this year's 4-2-3-1 has been awful. We played it last year and it was largely good, it just looks utterly disorganised now. Sometimes players press while the others sit deep and massive gaps appear. It doesn't look well defined at all, it seems overly complex.
  7. We could be surprised here, he said in his NUFCTV interview that we absolutely needed to go to West Ham and get the win, and for once, I actually felt like he was speaking with some sincerity and conviction (aka he looked terrified). Then he started talking about needing experience in the line up I have no idea what to expect for this, in term of team, tactics and performance, but I imagine that once again, it will be illogical and overly complex.
  8. His comments about putting experience in the team selection are a bit worrying. He might just mean Colo and Simpson coming in but who knows.
  9. Would love Patrick Vieira right now tbh.
  10. Spot on. We just need someone with the capacity to actually organise the team (some simple yet clear tactics, roles and responsibilities) and pick a balanced XI, with the guts to go out and try to get a win.
  11. The more and more you think about this, the worse it gets. That starting line up man, so negative when we needed to get a win.
  12. Depends if the players have down tools. If they have then he has to go now and hopefully that is enough for them to start fighting again. Yesterday looked like a few of them had had enough and want him gone, or is that reading too much in to it? (Genuine question btw open to everyone to answer) I think yesterday was enough for some of them. Let's not forget that some of these players have won championships and have genuine career ambitions, not pissing about trying to get a point at home when in a serious relegation battle.
  13. He's such an arsehole. He's just the latest player that Wraith's decided to arse lick. The man is an insufferable human being. Staggeringly, it's being seemingly being advocated by tens of morons. 'Need Danny's commitment like' I don't think I've ever seen Simpson take responsibility for anything, I couldn't think of many worse choices for captain.
  14. Steve Wraith on a one man mission to make Danny Simpson captain.
  15. I think our best hope is that we'll grab a draw or two before the season's end and Wigan/Villa won't catch up. If we do stay up, I think the only way he'll be gone by the beginning of next season is if players make it known they want to go because of him.
  16. I think the line up could have really fucked the players off. If the reports of harsh complaints at the player/staff meeting are true, then they see that line up for a home game when we're desperate for points, that may have been realization for some of them that this guy just has no clue and he's not going to change. This isn't me excusing them, they deserve a slating, I'm just trying to see where the hell that shambles came from yesterday. When you see footballers (international footballers, no less) not making simple passes and generally playing like they've had all of the belief sucked out of them, you know something is badly, badly wrong. They looked absolutely hapless, that was even worse than the last Liverpool drubbing we had at home.
  17. That goal was an absolute nightmare, one of the most amateur i've seen us concede. We're on the attack, their 'keeper clears it and they're immediately countering 3 v 2. We've apparently worked on organisation and shape for weeks and our manager apparently studies teams meticulously, yet our 2 defensive midfielders are stood miles away. It's either moronic tactics or the players are stupid/can't communicate.
  18. I think some people are massively under estimating the influence that Pardew is having on the players, I've seen s*** managers like him in industry and the negative impact they can have is incredible. I bet the players hate what is happening, every last one of them. It's his decisions that have led to the amazing lack of confidence within the team but they simply weren't professional enough yesterday, it should never be that bad, no matter how strongly they feel about the situation. If they've got a problem, then they need to sort it out in private but just make sure you do the best job you can while you're on the pitch. I like our squad of players and think it has a lot of potential and believe Pardew is the biggest reason we're not performing, but yesterday was not good enough from them.
  19. The players were hugely unprofessional and deserve heavy criticism for it, they were hung out to dry by their manager, in terms of a suicidal line up and tactics, and when they needed him for solutions he couldn't come up with them. I didn't think the players were apathetic, they looked defeated, humiliated and devoid of any confidence and I think Taylor summed it up perfectly post-match, they were feeling sorry for themselves, which is not good enough. I personally think Pardew was most at fault for yesterday's debacle but the players need a backlash too, they're most likely frustrated at the manager but there are far better ways to show it. There either needs to be some leadership from the dugout or on the pitch, we don't appear to have either right now, which is especially worrying as the bloke in charge seemingly leans on individuals so much to get us results.
  20. Hung out to dry. What an abysmal tactic to play against Sturridge and Coutinho. Gerrard as well, he's not that good anymore but he can still pick a pass.
  21. I wouldn't be surpirised if some players were mystified at that team selection and it may have been the straw at broke the camel's back for Pardew. Imagine you're them, that line up was tantamount to surrender.
  22. Do you trust Sissoko to play as a midfielder?
  23. Everyone knows what Cabaye's about now, apart from the bloke that counts. Finally moved him in position today but plays no other attacking players bar Cisse, then when he brings the attackers on he moves Cabaye into that deep role where he tends to do little other than run around and get annoyed.
  24. I think he'd be a smashing player for us if we played to his strengths. Have a guy next to him taking the knocks and let him play further up the pitch. It seems so simple. I don't think he's as good as people make out either mind, however I do think he wouldn't look out of place in the Man City/Man Utd/Chelsea squads. So figure that one out. Don't be daft, man! The guy's only 5'8 and is neither particularly strong, nor quick, let's make him the midfield engine!
  25. LOWLIGHTS MORE LIKE, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! f*** it, can I die soon please. Ha! I was thinking about this after the game Death? Aye, that keeps on happening to me after our games as well. It's surely preferable. I'm not being morbid at all, just logical. One of my first thoughts after recent games has been the lowlights craic. Waiting for some dopey chav to come along and post 'shite-lights moar lyk m8', or some equally unoriginal yet hilarious comment.
