8th and i would be happy with that, shows alot of progress imo.

The Booing today was pathetic and the people singing Big Sam for England are obviously totally inept at understanding football, i wouldnt be surprised if BS left the way our fickle fans have treated him, that would be horrific imo. Theres a bloke sitting behind me who pisses me right off, always on about how Sam hasn't got a clue when he thought Viduka should have gone off Barton. As for SA subs today, they weren't good decisions, but he had valid reasons for his decisions, Zoggy was having an absolute mare and Emre was just running into trouble, in fact i thought Barton was pretty good when he got on. He needs time, and i know we all want instant results but good things come to those who wait, we have to simply accept that BS needs more than 13 games.

Same i was at the game we were meant to get one, but i was late by 2 minutes and they ran out. Still it will be fantastic for our support to get lifted.

Does it matter? everyone knows what he is talking about. Nope not at all, Can someone tell me who the opposition was when we actually got the scarves?
-
Definately a good idea, should do the atmosphere some good. Also a minor point should it not be scarves?

we finished 3rd, 4th and 5th with Andy O'Brien, let's get him back Teddy Sheringham, been there and done that, let's sign him too Slight difference between O'Brien and Shay tbh. Shay single handedly won us alot of games to get us in that league position mainly thanks to O'Briens and Brambles silly mistakes. theres also a difference between a bit of experience and an OAP, Shay is only 32, Sheringham 41, whats wrong with Shay proving himself as a champions league keeper, as he has done, hence 'been there done that'.

We finished 3rd, 4th and 5th with Shay in net, how can we not get back to that level with him, he has already been there and done that.
-
Give him a chance, i doubt he has full fitness yet, because it certainly doesnt look like he is fully fit. However he has shown some glimpses of vision and skill, especially for that little intracate one-two with Milner before the goal, and a few passes and tackles spring to mind too.

Lawrenson says Sunderland today - twat

see above Sorry was doing an edit, I think Radio Newcastle are on drugs, lets hope they are anyway.. What the fk is Sam doing!! -------------------Harper -----Taylor-------Faye-------Roze Milner--Smith--Barton--Emre--Zoggy --------Owen-------------Viduka that team is quite good imo, when you look at it like that.
-
Going with Winbacks to try and get round his incredibly narrow midfield, quite similar to what portmouth did to us last week, use the full backs for width, and dictate the middle of the park with extra men.
-
i am quite confident actually that we will win, theres somethin about viduka when hes is in the team i feel alot more confident. 2-1 to us.
-
i seriously doubt we will be trounced tbh, infact i doubt we will lose, just over reaction. we will get at least one point.

Without pace we are absolutely shite really. Every team needs at least 2 pacey outlets. It forces defenders to think faster this causes more mistakes to be made, Pace is a necessity really and is massively beneficial when used effectvely, one of the most important aspects of the current game.

Cacapa has to be dropped, for this week at least, keep Faye on though with Roz they looked competent in the Pompey game together. Taylor nah, he will try too hard in the game, with it being a derby game and try to be the hero, could result in a mistake. Emre and Geremi for me in the middle, Butt is too much of a headless chicken, leaves massive gaps. Zog and Milner should have a field day with their poor backs. Viduka has to start really, not bothered between Martins edges it for me. Beye and Enrique should also start. Harper Beye Roz Faye Enrique Milner Geremi Emre Zoggy Vid Martins We should win really but who knows? I wouldnt mind seeing us use the same tactic as Pompey actually, using that 3 men in the middle to dictate the middle of the park, could work.

3 best purchases (regardless of value) from the last 3 managers.

Martins - just a good overall buy Cacapa - apart from yesterday, he has been class, and with his experience and champions league know how, a very shrewd buy. Solano - Wasn't as good as his first stint but brought back some good technical influence to Newcastle, was a delight to watch at times. Rozy looks a brill buy oo though. -
Today wasn't inordinary, every season every team has an extremely poor and freakish result at home. Last season for us it was Birmingham last season for Arsenal it was West Ham etc, but weird things happen in football, like freaky results today, you can't stop them. today though, effectively the real result was 1-1, because those crazy 5 minutes were an absolute fluke and a total shambles. Cacapa, arguably our most experienced and best player had a shocker. I hope it doesn't have the same effect on him as it did on Boumsong after Man Utd. But he isn't totally to blame. The first goal was an absolute screamer but who the hell was closing paramot down? pathetic really. Cacapa is solely to blame for the second but for the third i blame the whole defence, what was Faye doing and why did Harper have to come out so early and make the goal a much easier target, those who celebrated Harper coming back, are i hope giving themselves a good slap, as he was also really at fault the fourth goal too. I can see why SA brought Taylor back to deal with the aerial threat but Beye must be back for next week imo. Enrique i thought had a good game and was our best player. Faye was just as bad as Cacapa just his blunders weren't so critical. Rozy showed us why he is a class act today really good when he got on. For me Barton not match fit, but showed some real class in glimpses some good balls etc. Butt for me never MOTM was poor. The wingers should never start like that, maybe switch round a little bit, but Milner was rubbish Zoggy was a little bit better. Emre was pretty lively when he came on and i would like him and Barton to start at home. Oba should never have been dropped in the first place you just simply don't drop the top scorer. Owen looked alright today just slow and weak. Smith was ineffective. Harper - 4 Cacapa - 2 Faye - 3 Taylor - 4 Enrique - 6 Milner - 4 Zog - 5 Barton - 5 Butt - 5 Owen - 5 Smith - 4 Subs Martins - 6 Emre - 6 Roz - 6.5

Don't think it's fair that our top scorer for the season is dropped tbh, he's done nothing wrong, been better than Owen imo. Beye being dropped isn't fair either, last few games he has been pretty decent exactly the same as Enrique. Emre set up the goal last week, mind you it was an awful delivery. Still he's put in some good shifts since he's come back and at home i'd much rather see Emre and Barton than slinging Butt in there. Geremi, well he hasn't been dropped so far and you can only really see what a player like Geremi gives team when he's not in it because his work is off the ball mainly, we will see if he is missed today. Still we will win today with the team Sam is putting out, but i think the selection is a bit unfair. i think we'll see a 3-0 today though..

Given out for three weeks, Harper in then

Exactly. It's not like Given's one mistake asctually cost us the match. -

Wow, can't believe people are saying good to this, its quite ridiculous, but then again as soon as Harper makes a mistake (History shows he drops some clangers) then we will see what some people say. There is clearly no comparison between the 2 keepers, i doubt that Harper would ever have got into the PL's team of the season, if he had started as many as Shay. Who says football fans aren't fickle.
