  1. I was talking to my Palestinian friend and he knows two Ali Alis, a Muhammed Mohammed and a Mohammed Mohammed. Lol.
  2. If we wont go to 2.5mil for one of the countries biggest talents who has a proven ccc record there is no chance in hell we will go to that for Beckford, and its not saying we will get him for that, especially with Grayson having no time to replace didnt they just bring in McSheffery on loan? he's a striker Primarily a winger tbh.
  3. I was about to make a nice gay joke, but you edited.
  4. A complete twat? You already did that with Williamson.
  5. Brilliant move from Portsmouth.
  6. Steer clear of Loach please. He's rubbish ().
  7. Every team plays badly once in a while and within a 46 game season every team is bound to have a 'bad patch' (in terms of form and results). Whether you 'play badly every week' (as some of you claim, I'd be inclined to disagree, you're underperforming with regards to what your team could do, but not actually playing badly (effectiveness =/= aesthetically pleasing football)), it's 'your time'. We haven't won in six, we've not been playing against good sides, we've been pretty shocking in general, but it was always going to happen at some point. Not worth cutting yourselves over.
  8. I misread your post, sorry. I thought you'd said 'bring in', whereas the 'bring on' (upon actually reading that) is clearly tongue-in-cheek.
  9. I'm not 'standing up for the league'. I'm saying that you're as symptomatic of the 'lack of quality' you ascribe to this league as much as other teams, who judging from the reaction on this thread, you claim to have divine right to walk all over. You're a good side, but there are a few good sides in this league, hence why it's not necessarily surprising that *shock-horror* you drew away against another good side in this division, who from watching the game, were galvanised by going a man down, more than anything.
  10. Why would you ever want such a despicable player, let alone the polar opposite of the player you've seemingly just lost out on? It makes no sense.
  11. Leicester are a good side. Sure, you had a man's advantage for most of the game, but a solid side galvanised by a sending off, holding out for 90 minutes really isn't that surprising. It's as though you think you should be wiping away pathetic little teams like Leicester, every week, when reality the difference between your two squads isn't as big as you'd like and they seem far more motivated (this point may be the actual problem).
  12. If Burnley, Hull or Portsmouth (not that they could) had come in for him, I'd expect him to have chosen you. Otherwise, in general, most other teams seem more attractive. Because, let's be honest, I doubt (if his talent is as great as is touted) he'd plan to stay at any club outside of the top 4 for more than a couple of years. The quicker he can get impressing at the highest level, the better, in a sense.
  13. No. At least we haven't signed Martin Taylor. Now that would be a bad transfer window! Our transfer window's been brilliant, considering it wasn't too long ago when the future of the club was in doubt. So far having kept players we all expected to sell, extending the loans of Cleverley, Lansbury and Helguson, buying a much-needed tall defender and a couple of young emerging prospects. I'm practically frothing at the mouth. Actually, I lie, I am frothing at the mouth. (Watch this change when Loach leaves in the next couple of days )
  14. So is it back to 'worst transfer window evar nyargh', now?
  15. Moussi's played barely 10 games this season. Shows how much you've been following this division
  16. Legendary Stelling moment there.
  17. The directors are trying desperately to get the club put into admin, rather than be wound up. If a couple of the things I've heard are true, I wouldn't be surprised if they were to go out of existence completely, rather than just into admin.
  18. Their net spend is usually fairly low, they've got a tight wage structure, fill their ground every week despite exorbitant prices. I don't think they're doing much wrong tbh.
  19. Our game has been called off. Haven't been to a home game in ages, fuck.
  20. I am really, really sorry GG. Hmm, he's less of a twat than Williamson (who in turn is less than Marlon King, then less than Vialli...), not too displeased, we needed a defender, but would prefer someone who doesn't appear to be a total twat.
  21. Young played for a Premier League side.
  22. Like I said a couple of days ago, the watford board should have been man enough to sit down with Portsmouth and Newcastle and accept that they weren't going to get all the money they hoped for, but would renegotiate the clauses so everyone got something from it. Your board, by sticking to its guns, has fucked up true and proper. What a load of shite that is. Portsmouth shouldn't have spent above their means, and inserting clauses into a deal to drive the price down has bitten them on the arse, and they should deal with that. Why should Watford have to get less money - if there wasn't a x% clause stipulated in the £2m(?) deal originally then they might not have accepted it, and may have asked for more. If they get nothing from this deal, and didn't negotiate, it is their own fault. Its a typical bankruptcy scenario, a straight choice between nothing and a pittance, you should take the pittance as you will never get the full lot back. That is where Watford went wrong. Also loads of clubs were really stupid negotiating installment deals with Pompey, even after it was clear that Viduka didn't turn up to pre-season because his signing-on fee wasn't paid into his bank account clubs like watford should have realised that Portsmouth weren't a club to deal with unless it involved the full amount into the account. Sorry, but when you sell a player to another club, you expect them to make an appearance at least, ffs. It wasn't a 100 games deal or something similarly ridiculous.
  23. fuck off Actually, I'd like to retract that comment. Even I think it's a bit too much. (You may recall Calum Davenport broke his neck in his first game for us, having Darius Henderson fall on him in the penalty area)
  24. It's possible you've signed him on loan, with a loan fee, but then a view to a free transfer, thus possibly escaping any sell-on fee. If this is the case, I hope Portsmouth go bust with haste, disgusting if this is the case.
