According to Sky Italia we're signing Neuton on loan from Udinese. Quite intriguing.
  2. claim to fame: i've met that fella and asked him about how the fuck the second dutch tier actually works. nice guy.

Yeah, I've seen this and am a little wary. Most of the type of players Udinese have loaned Granada won't be eligible to play in England immediately due to work permit issues. So then, exactly what is the plan forward for Watford? Hopefully they're looking at continuing to build our academy up (I think we should have top tier status when EPPP comes in), which would be fitting with our current strategy, but perhaps allowing us to hold onto our best players a little longer than we currently do. If they were to support Sean Dyche, provide financial security, build a new stand and continue upkeep of the academy and youth investment we'd probably do very well. But, rumours are they want to install Gianfranco Zola and Gianluca Nani - which makes me a little uneasy. I'm a massive fan of how well Dyche has done so far on such limited resources (finished higher than anyone since Boothroyd, despite having a smaller budget - better than the likes of Mackay and Rodgers managed despite both of them moving onto greener pastures), we should look to support him. The likes of Norwich, Swansea, Southampton have risen well by investing in young hungry English talent with a clear outlined footballing philosophy. I'd rather attempt to emulate this than do as Granada have. I don't want our club's identity to disappear, and I'm sure it won't, but I'm wary of big foreign appointments given what happened with Gianluca Vialli over 10 years ago now. It's exciting, but I'm not quite comfortable with where we may be headed. But we'll continue to exist and hopefully at least be able to consolidate, which is more than I would otherwise ask for, given how calamitous our ownership situation has been for a long time now.

Not Worthy of a Thread's a good shout. It's a club transfer. And would be worthy of a thread. :'(

Dunno where to put this but the bloke who owns Udinese and Granada is taking us over.

Fee isn't anywhere near that much. Fair amount dependent on them staying up.
  7. Yeah. Luton are cunts. Any excuse to say that, I'll take it.
  8. I'm assuming I've got to bet £5 of my winnings a total of four more times until I'm allowed to withdraw it. Is that correct? Use oddsmonkey (http://www.oddsmonkey.com/) to find an event on which lay odds are very close to back odds (using your preferred betting exchange). Bet on something that you that provides a good percentage yield that you think is unlikely to happen (at 888bet) and lay this bet on Betfair (or other exchange). If it doesn't come off, you 'win' at Betfair and extract most of your winnings without having to rollover multiple times. You can do this multiple times until you can either withdraw from Betfair, or you've met your rollover requirements. Will require pumping a bit of cash into your Betfair, but overall you're unlikely to lose much of your winnings as long as you pick something sufficiently unlikely to occur to lay on Betfair. Does this make sense? Use this (http://www.matchedodds.co.uk/matched-betting-calculator/) to calculate the amounts required to lay on Betfair/expected returns without risking arithmetical miscalculation (and potentially losing winnings). Let me know if there's any of this that doesn't make sense - if you follow these instructions, you should be able to get your winnings out (via an exchange) without having to meet the rollover requirements.
  9. In America we have every match live across nine different stations. You also have rampant obesity.
  10. Got £2 put in my Coral account because I hadn't bet for a while with them. Stuck it on an 8-fold. Roma are cunts. Should've had £100 of free money.
  11. Look into matched betting if you really want your losses back and are willing to stake a fair amount and put in a few hours of effort (at minimal risk).
  12. don't do anything silly. don't chase your losses. don't hurt yourself. just sleep it off.

No To Madeira, so you're wrong.

You don't think that a midfield of Xavi, Modric, Eriksen would be exposing the defence, when they're not on the ball? Not adept enough at defending, nor enough brute force to overcome that. It's be ridiculously unbalanced.

    World XI

Balanced side. Modric's role would be analogous to that of Xavi's, playing them both together would be ineffectual. Alonso is more suited to playing a defensive-minded role, with interceptions and high pass completion being his aims, rather than goals/assists. FWIW, this is what I think makes this particular spin on a familiar concept interesting, balancing what one deems to be an effective cohesive team with players suited to their positions (and considering potential ego-clashes), whilst considering the limitations on individual talent possessed by some of the lower-esteemed nations in FIFA's top 11. Leads to players being picked, despite them not actually being the best player in their role, but by far the best contribution their nation has to offer my side.

    World XI

Slight twist on a familiar concept, pick your best side containing one player from each of FIFA's top ranked 11 national sides. My attempt: I. Akinfeev (Russia) P. Lahm (Germany) T. Silva (Brazil) R. Carvalho (Portugal) A. Cole (England) L. Modric (Croatia) X. Alonso (Spain) C. Eriksen (Denmark) L. Messi (Argentina) E. Cavani (Uruguay) R. Van Persie (Netherlands)
  17. £10 on this @ 4.83. Qualified for a free £25 bet in the process of tonight too. Yeah.
