  1. Absolutely phenomenal yesterday.

First few games were a bit average, however since the Everton game he's been absolutely fantastic.

Having Faye next to him would've been perfect, because Faye is the dominant player in the air that Coloccini isn't, however on the floor (perhaps Faye's weakness), nothing gets past Coloccini.

Oh well, we've got to make do with Taylor now :(

  2. I genuinely think that Joey Barton is passionate about the club.

We've been very loyal to him, and I think he appreciates with it.

You could tell from the way he played when he came on too that he meant business.

He's definitely on his last chance alright, but if he continues on with the same effort, he'll be great for us this season.

  3. I think what some people forget is that at the moment our squad simply isn't good enough.

Now that all of our players are fit again, it's probably a mid-table worthy Premier League side, however as soon as we get injuries, we look like relegation candidates.

Get in a few bodies in January (they don't even have to be fantasic, just good squad players) and we'll be fine.

  4. We didn't play awfully, and it's certainly an improvement on what we were dishing up before the Everton game.

Let's face the truth though, as Shay said himself, at the moment they're a better squad than us.

We pushed them until the end, and it took a wonderful free kick to beat us.

They fully deserved their win, but our 28 year run had to end at some point.

Must beat West Brom now though, it's a crucial, crucial match.

No way in the world they have a better squad than us ours may not be that big but there is certainly lot more quality than most teams in the Premiership. Our loss was down to a managerial cock up.

    Oh for fucks sake.

There's been nothing wrong with Joe Kinnears management, why the fuck are our supporters do keen to sink the boot in and blame someone?

And those suggesting that we wouldn't have lost if Keegan was in charge are deluded. It wouldnt' have made a difference.

They played better than us, you know, it happens.

As for their squad being better than ours, I think you either seriously over-rate our players or seriously under-rate theirs.

Agree with Joe Kinnear doing a good job overall, but he really did screw up the substitutions in the last couple matches. Their squad is hardly a different class to ours, and had we started with Jonas and Barton we probably wouldn't have to bypass the midfield every time we tried to attack.

Their squad isn't a different class, no.

It's probably a little bit better at the moment though (with how their players are playing etc).

Derbies are always close fought games and always come down to who performs better on the day, this time it was Sunderland.

Jonas and Barton weren't ready to start, them starting on the bench was fair enough. Disappointed we didn't see them a bit earlier though.

  5. Why is it Taylor always playing last man defender anyway? Shouldn't he as the big strong stopper be dealing with the big guys and taking out the target man rather than sweeping up in front of the goalie?

Why is he always in that position?

He was playing Cisse onside, whilst not marking him, in fact, the only thing he could possibly have been doing in that position was blocking Given's view.

It's not the first time he's done it either, it's a bad habit that he's got that he needs to get out of.

  6. Why are we slating Kinnear like this after three games in a very tough situation? I think he is decent and should stay until the end of the season. We need stability more than anything else. Fans are so fickle and angry all the time. Probaly the same idiots who thought Keegan was useless last year after a string of useless results. Once we get this new owner, we will have had 3 different owners and 4 different managers in about 2 and a quarter seasons. That is insane. You think the fans would at least give people a chance ffs.

No way I want this guy in charge until the end of the season. Get rid ASAP!.

Yes, sack him now and get Hughton back, because he did a fantastic job!

No let's get a decent Manager in that might help, and before you say nobody wants the job, have they really tried to get a top class Manager?.

    Who is 'they' though?

The club is up for sale, there's no point in 'them' (which would include Ashley, who doesn't care anymore) appointing someone for the potential new owners to sack him.

Joe Kinnear is the best option in the short-term, and he hasn't even done a bad job.

  8. They'll be very low on confidence after successive 4 and 3 nil drubbings.

We MUST take advantage of it, and register all 3 points.

I know it's not a derby, but I'll be just as nervous watching this one as I was watching the derby, because if we don't win we're in some trouble.

                                    Given

    Beye       Coloccini                Bassong      Enrique

    Jonas       Barton                  Gutrie           Duff

                    Ameobi                 Martins

    Haway the lads!

    :-X

Apologies, no idea what I was thinking

    I blame the booze.

    Howay the lads! ;)

  10. He's done fine.

The real test comes now though, we've got 4 games coming up where anything less than 7 points from the available 12 won't cut it.

Same old problem though, he's had 3 games in charge FFS

We can never give a manager time can we?

  13. How many of our games have had a penalty in them this season, either for or against us? Is it me or do there seem to be loads more this season than usual? There have been pens against us at the Bolton game, Arsenal, Hull, Blackburn, Everton and Man City if I am not mistaken. What the hell is going on? 6 out of 8 games have had pens in them.

Hasn't Howard Webb awarded 4 of them as well?

Bar last nights I think that all of the penalties were justifiable.

Funny how we got away without conceding one at Old Trafford

Nicky Butt tackle against Hull at home was justifiable?

  14. As soon as he gave the penalty, he had to give the red card.

Basically, if they rescind the red card they're saying that the referee got the penalty decision wrong, which they won't do.

The only way Beye will be free to play, is if Rob Styles rescinds it himself, and the chances of that are small.

  15. I've been impressed with the efforts of our boys, since going down early to that dodgy decision, by a man and a goal.

Habib's red card won't be rescinded, because his name isn't John Terry and he isn't the England captain.

No idea how Rob Styles continues to get a game though.

I also can't think of a team that has had as many dodgy penalies given against them at home as we have this season.

  16. Haha are people for real?

It was Coloccini's fault with the pass? Get real.

The reason Coloccini might have looked poor to some of you (and he hasn't to post of us), is because he's doing twice the work, constantly making up for Taylor's fuck ups.
