  1. Our whole strikeforce, bar Demba is Championship strikers. You could say Best is a decent striker, at least he's better than Lovenkrands and Ameobi, and has some continuity. Ask yourselves this question; In which other Premier League club would Ameobi and Lovenkrands get a game? You should struggle to find more than 5. I find it worrying that this club, which is associated with such quality strikers from the past, now seem to settle for very average strikers, if that. I started supporting this club because of Alan Shearer, and seeing so many people defending the likes of Ameobi/Lovenkrands is just wrong. This club needs competitive genuine quality strike force, and shouldn't keep handing out contract extensions and hold on to nobodies. It sends out all the wrong signs.
  2. Pardew might see him as a winger choice as well though . Anyway, we're fucked if Ba gets injured
  3. Not having a real LB at the club for the season opener is an embarrassment to the club, and obviously a gut punch to ST holders and the rest who pays for the match. There is a chance though, that Pieters will fly in before the deadline tomorrow,
  4. This is the biggest load of crap any of you will read today. I thought it was pretty near the mark. The Shola hatred is over the top from some quarters. He's not good enough to start but he has scored important goals for us in the past. As a back up option he is ok imo. It's pretty much spot on. Similar levels of striker include people like James Beattie and Cameron Jerome, who don't have obvious weaknesses and look more capable, but never give defences the problems that Shola does. The paradox with Shola is that although he's not great at bringing the ball under control, when he does get the ball between his feet, he's useful. With his strength, his quick feet and those long legs which can nick the ball away from defenders at the last second, he can create chances for himself and others. People just get angry with him for the clumsy moments. Oh shut the f*** up, man. The 'clumsy moments' happen everytime the ball goes near him in 5 out of 6 games he plays. Yep. It's not a great paradox. Not good at bringing the ball under control, but useful with the ball between his feet? Pretty much the same thing, but you're right, he's not good at bringing the ball under control, nor is he under any circumstances useful near a ball. Yes, he has strength, and long clumsy legs, but quick feet? Nah. All this is just some sick kind of justifying the contract extension, and the player in general. The arguments pro Ameobi are so very, very thin and falls on they're own absurdity. It really isn't funny anymore. Also, I'll cry infinite rivers, if that's what this is. Get real ffs.
  5. He isn't fourth choice though, more like second.
  6. A river. Cry me one. Classic.
  7. Feels like a punch in the face. I don't get the "love" for him. What is it based on this year? I get why some find it funny to joke with the "Ameobi dynasty", ironically chant his name and so on (because he is beyond horseshit I hope? ), but it has gone to far when far too many clowns decides to invade a pitch due to a Sammy Ameobi goal, as a result of the false love for his older brother, and the beginning of a new Ameobi era. It's just wrong to give a 29 year old with a record of 48 goals in 236 games an extension. Simple question; what has he done to deserve it? Just count the facepalms in this thread and imagine them week in and week out for 3 more years, or maybe 10.
  8. Without doubt better than Leon Best?
  9. Yes. At least Lovenkrands looks likes he's doing something (in terms of giving a damn), even though the end product 95 % of the times are laughable whether he simply looses possession or does something Lovekrandsesque. On the other hand, Ameobi enters the field and takes a vacation, occasionally interrupted by some penalty, and when he scores, all is forgotten.
  10. It does if half our Police force is IN London. IS half our police force in London? I don't get this. I would think Newcastle to be the last city to send reinforcements to London, location-wise.

  12. Sanogo? Definitely FM, but obviously playing the latest version too. He's scoring goals for fun.
  13. Three of four weeks, thats a year out of play then.
  14. Him and Tiote in the middle of the park is so mouthwatering. We're not gonna loose the ball,
  15. Well, that's Nottingham destroying basically every bet in here.
