I said in the pre-match thread that after last week I'm far more interested in how we perform against Leicester/Brentford/Ipswich than this game. Obviously thrilled with that half, but it was obvious we'd turn up tonight.

Remains to be seen with that one but seems fair to say Gordon has cost us 3-5 points this season just based on finishing.

I'm not sure I can handle losing to them again in some fashion similar to last season. Please score more.

The balls to Murphy and Gordon were almost as good as the goal. The cynical part of me feels like this the ultimate big stage come-and-get-me performance.

Are we really doing this again? If there’s a part of Eddie’s tenure that’s beyond reproach it’s player development. He clearly doesn’t think he’s ready.

I’ve been looking forward to this for months, but this week has dampened the enthusiasm. I think we’ll look better. We may win. But the three league games that follow seem far more important as we’re going nowhere if we can’t get up for the likes of Brentford, Leicester, and Ipswich.

It’s concerning at this point. No way around it. I still think he’s being let down by a number of players and I’m more disappointed in a lot of them than I am Eddie, but it’s also fair to say it’s the manager’s responsibility to find a solution. I’ll never understand why some are gagging for him to leave though; almost willing the failure it seems. If this is the beginning of the end I’m going to be sad. Off the pitch he’s everything anyone could ever want in a manager and on it his first two years were spectacular. I’m still hopeful we’ll find our way out of this, but for the first time my confidence is wavering.

In fairness with all the xG jokes, we put the ball on their goal line past their keeper. But it doesn’t count for xG.
