The timing of the earlier stages of the FA Cup are far better for a club in Europe though, particularly one like us who may still have squad depth concerns. As we saw in 2023, playing in the CL and advancing to the QF of the League Cup is a brutal schedule with the international breaks bringing the only respite.

That game was ridiculous. 78% possession, 23 shots (3 off the post), and 12 corners. They didn't have a shot until the 93rd minute and almost won it.

What they should do to make everyone more people happy and make their lives easier is have someone touch up the current one so it has the right amount of detail and scales well, and then also introduce a simplified one that could play off one of the 70s/80s ones, use a Magpie, etc. The new shirts can have the new one, but they can still use the old one where it makes sense or to sell "retro" things. Liverpool created a new one but their old one isn't completely gone and they also have the This is Anfield one that has elements of both.

So the team we're 3 points ahead of with an almost insurmountable GD, the team we're a point ahead of, and the team we're 2 points behind but play this weekend, have beaten three times, and whose only win in the last month is against a 10 man Ipswich are nailed on but we're not. A reasoned perspective.

This isn't even true and even if it were it's grossly misleading. Wharton has 31 PL starts with 2500 minutes played, plus another 800 minutes in domestic cups. He also had two Championship seasons at Miley's age accounting for another 3,000 minutes played. Miley has half as many PL starts with 1500 minutes and also around 800 cup minutes (including CL). We're probably 12-18 months away from being able to make a fair comparison to current Wharton and he'll still be younger than Wharton is now.

Everyone needs to pump the brakes on the title talk. Maybe things will look differently if we have a perfect summer, but we need to clear the hurdle of playing well every ~3 days before that’s even a realistic dream.

Yup, he was trying to will us to the finish at times today. I’m like one more goal or sliding block away from starting a GoFundMe for a BDB statue.
-
One of the worst touches you’ll ever see from a pro.
-
A goal and we’re probably in the CL. A goal for them and we may regret this half for a long time. Please.
-
I don’t understand why Cucurella has been granted the entire left side of the pitch.
-
Thought he was missing next season for a moment there.

Please get an early 2nd.

Agreed, it'd be like announcing we're moving without a rendering or a location. Except then they add this: Based on what we've heard, updates to the current club crest should be minimal and therefore Refine & Revive is our recommended approach They must have some options in this direction, which would be nice to show. Or they will end up saying "it was too complicated to refine."

When this first came up I kind of shrugged. I like parts of both of the circular ones from the 70s and 80s. But I got kind of a sinking feeling reading that. I absolutely hate this: But it was created in a different era. Its intricate design doesn't always translate well in today's digital world. And it's difficult to reproduce it clearly and consistently. As football and the world changes, so too must the symbol that unites us. Fuck off. Put a shovel in the ground on the stadium or training ground before messing with the crest.

Wonderful. I'm going to assume those "other costs" are agent fees or bonuses or something, so not to NUFC. We probably get around £15m. Let's just say his wages were £100k and skip any debate about that. That means the combination of player sales income and wage savings is roughly £10m per year for the next three years.

It’d be nice to be 1/50 but we’re still in good shape.
-
Can’t remember Tonali being this sloppy.
-
We’ve had some moments down the left, but Isak has barely touched the ball.

Turning himself into the villain.

"I'm very much at home and living a dream," he said. "For me to leave, it must be something great for the club, not for me. "I don't worry about it. I trust the club and my agents. I'm so happy here and I want to stay."

If City beat Villa we could be five clear [City wins] I'm still worried Villa will win the rest and can't see Forest losing, but if we just take care of what we need to do we'll be fine. [Beat Ipswich 3-0] Now that Villa and Forest are out of the cup they have no distractions and Liverpool winning the title means they are now terrible [Forest lose to Brentford] Man United and Spurs and Palace and the Amex and everything is bad ----------------- You all are going to drive yourselves mad. The most relevant fact is since mid-December (i.e. The Rise of Tonali), which is the equivalent of half a season as of now, we are the second best team in the country and we beat the only one better in a cup final.

6 English teams in the CL and possibly winning two of the 3 tournaments is going to shine a light on how financially dominant the PL has become. Not really sure what can be done. It would be a shame if UEFA responded by making an example out of a club like Chelsea.

Yeah, I hope at least one of Leeds, Burnley, Sheffield United / mackems stay up next season. I think Leeds with their new owners, planned stadium expansion, etc. have the best chance.

Without even looking back at the numbers I don't see how Spurs could possibly have any sort of problem. What's the source on that?
