People haven't really caught on to the gap that has grown. I said recently to a group of people that the clubs trying to create a mid-table moat around them like Fulham, Brighton, Brentford, Palace, etc. are arguably as big a problem as the ones at the top and they all thought I was crazy. The fact they are all southern clubs makes it worse too. Pulling the drawbridge up on clubs with long histories like Leeds, Sunderland, the Sheffield clubs, West Brom, etc. feels especially wrong.

I don't think the average footballer thinks about these things. But if the same Chelsea as we've seen recently shows up then Liverpool can beat them without being near their best.
-
Meslier is horrendous. They are going straight back down without a significant GK upgrade. If I were Leeds I'd be calling us every day asking if Pope is available.
-
Our GK can’t touch anyone going for the ball and we can’t stand next opposing goalkeepers. Got it.

Quite sure the general consensus would be that it's over and the FA Cup is far more important anyway.

From a competitive standpoint I love that their expansion plans are still less capacity than SJP.

Annoyingly will be more than offset by their Europa travels, plus another £200+ million headstart.

The depreciation of the stadium is a big number but it doesn't count against PSR. The interest payments do count against PSR and they are pretty big (like £25m if I remember right), but most of the stadium is financed at interest rates we may never see again so overall they are in good shape.

Happy anniversary to my favorite 21 minutes ever of NUFC.

Seems like a Villa v. Forest FA Cup Final would be ideal for a distraction and some added fixture congestion. Would also be nice for two non-Big 6 clubs to win both cups. It's only happened once in the PL era.

You don't understand. We had a bad weekend, so now every result for the next month is going to go against us.
-
Hope this goes better than the last time the whole forum was pulling for City.
-
I think a lot of the pessimism is rooted in wanting this to be handled comfortably. We just had a worst case scenario weekend (after a brilliant week) and we're still 4th. Our next game is at home against one of the worst teams in the league and we play once a week for the rest of the season. The reason the betting odds still like us and why so many predictors come out in our favor is we're still in a very strong spot, but that includes all the permutations where we qualify on the final day by a point or by GD. It might be a little torturous but I'm still very confident.

None of us are on the team as far as I know. Also, ignoring the fact some of them play each other, there is no chance they all win their remaining games.

Everyone handled this thread so well in 2022/23. Should be a pleasure cruise.

Absolutely hate Chelsea.

Drop points to Ipswich and panic is allowed. Win that and we have many paths to top 5.
-
It’s strange considering we’re essentially equals for 2.5 years. Our 3-1 win there last season is really the outlier. Otherwise it’s just the home side taking care of business.
-
Feels like we showed up for a regular game and Villa came to play their game of the season with revenge on the mind and wanting to get another crack at PSG. 4-4 on aggregate for the season.
-
Don’t bring facts or logic to this. The trolls have had nothing to feast on for six weeks.
-
Everyone said they’d be calm with a defeat. Let’s hope so. Hopefully some help from Fulham or Spurs in the next two days, but either way the race is truly on with five to play. We’re still in a very strong position.

Schar leaving miles of space. Games like this are where we need so much more pace.
-
Why did that not look like Gareth Barry at all?

Not sure I dislike anyone more than McGinn.
