A bit sad I know but may interest some. Would be interested to know how much more one of ours going to every away game will have to shell out this season v. what the maximum it would have been in the PL. Obviously there is the increased number of games as well but still it looks like quite a few places will charge us  more than £30.

  2. Yeah and if he kills someone he might go to prison for life.

 if my boss at work thought that there was a decent chance my own actions/indiscipline would leave me unavailable to work 15 - 25% of the time then I wouldn't last long. That could well be what Rafa is thinking.

  3. Wouldn't like to see it personally but I can sort of see why. Missing 4 games already and there's no way he isn't losing his temper at least once and getting a red. That would make it 7 games suspended with the possibility of more.

  4. Not going to get into talk of him being better than Sissoko, but I can guarantee he will produce more for the team, and be more appreciated by the fans.

Would say producing more for the team makes him better

Might not be the same quality, but he is effectively his replacement for this season as he will bring many of the same attributes at this level. Great business though - bringing in someone at that price who will be more than adequate in the Championship and keeping the rest of the fee for when we really need it next year.

  5. Sends a bit of a statement to the rest of the league if we can go and take players from Villa.

Shows Rafa is covering all bases as well - 4 relatively young CBs to see us through the 50 odd game season and with the hope that at least a couple will flourish into good quality premier league defenders over the next year or two. Bit of a numbers game in that respect really.

  6. Just glad it is going to get done now really. His departure was inevitable - much rather it be mid July giving Rafa time to spend the cash and have his replacement(s) get a good chunk of pre-season with the squad than lose him on deadline day in August.

  7. Think the 10% or maybe even 15% is in the FA Cup? Otherwise sides would regularly take 7k odd to Old Trafford and 6k to the Emirates. The rules could be different in the Champ though.

I think you do have to have a certain number of tickets available for members/general sale though.

  8. Anyone per chance know how many rows there are in the back tier of the strawberry corner?

Have been offered one in Row Q but don't want to be at the right back and have to stand!

    Row U is the back.

    Thanks mate.

  10. I still like him. We conceded a lot of goals because he was out of position, but sometimes that wasn't his fault. We had no shape or structure and he was basically our only attacking outlet for a large majority of the season. Not always possible for him to be in two places at once and we seemed to be most vulnerable to conceding when we were on the attack (i.e. our attacks came to nothing and teams would hit us too easily on the break).

One thing he was guilty of was committing too early to try and win balls when the odds of success were pretty slim. Again a lot of that can be put down to a lack of a plan/structure as a team. Now that Rafa is there you can see defensively that we are very disciplined in holding our shape and ensuring there are no gaps. This means that the opposition have to either take shots from distance or try the low percentage pass. That's what Anita was doing so well and we even did it against Villa, it was just frustrating that we (mainly Sissoko and Gini) didn't seem interested in hitting them on the break like we did against Spurs. Janmaat came back in on Sunday and looked much better than pre-injury - largely thanks to his decision making, which for me is a by-product of Rafa's training.

  11. Was a tough decision between Colback, Gini and Saylor for me. Went for Gini in the end, mainly because his lack of effort over the last 6 months has been disgraceful. The other two are talentless, brainless and, despite trying to make themselves out as local heroes, gutless, but the lack of appetite Wijnaldum showed between the Norwich (H) and Spurs (H) games was nothing short of pathetic.

  12. Can't believe people actually gave him a standing ovation. He's barely looked bother for the last 6 months, puts in one half decent performance and all of a sudden he is getting away without any flak. He is one of the worst culprits in our side in my opinion.
