You sign any player and chances are they'll miss as many games in a season due to injury and/or suspension. At least with this you know precisely when you're going to be missing said player. + the suspension/ injury imponderables. It is a concern like. If there was a similar player available for the same prce who wasn't away for the ACN I'd look at them first. Not sure there is so bring on the Gerv There's one who plays for Wigan...

He's the second weakest link in our side behind the lack of a quality striker. Personally would say both the strikers we've been playing are weaker than him, and our other centre half has at least matched his perfomrances this season but by no means outshone him. There is nothing drastically flawed in his game in my opinion, still relatively young and he can improve. All in my opinion of course. If Best had been fit, it would only be one striker weaker. As we're apparently going to be playing 4-3-3/4-5-1 next season, I'd still just class that as one. I also think Williamson has been much better at CB than Simpson has at RB. He does have flaws in his game in my opinion, which have been highlighted on here a fair bit - backing off and a lack of anything going forward being the two main ones.

Linked with Wigan this morning iirc. Think it was them. Aye, just seen that, £3m bid apparently. At that price, I really hope we're in for him.

To be fair, by the end of the transfer window, we could have a few to choose from (hopefully anyway).
