  1. the times i've saw him play he's reminded me of an andy cole / ian wright sorta striker, got a knack of being in the right place at the right time. however ... my mate is a huge leeds fan and says he's got a tendency to switch off a lot too, but when he's concentrating, he's great
  2. Yeah, if he's correct he's going to have bragging rights on here for literally years to come haha. Personally I think he's posted in good faith. And of course like everyone with half a brain I hope he's correct. And whilst it's all very interesting, I'm refusing to get even remotely excited though until I see something concrete. yup
  3. nah, i hope you're right thommo we've been kicked a lot this summer, would be nice for something positive to happen for a change
  4. i'd maybe have guthrie in place of smith, and smith in place of nolan
  5. adrian durham http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3015/2612944125_0f9430cd4e.jpg although for some reason i always expected adrian durham to look like this bloke ... sean lock http://www.nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk/images/content/events/main/Sean-Lock.gif
  6. What's with the "Iam"? iam(s) - cat food --- black cat ---- sunderland. wind up. hmmmm iam (mcfaul) errrrm we're signing a brazilian?
  7. a shearer/ronaldo partnership would have been like the next stage up from shearer/ferdinand and with figo / solano providing ammo from the wings.... they'd tear any defence a new one.
  8. nah, that was press conference at tree... so it's in leazes park
  9. Yep. i'd still rather have o'leary (if he brought eddie gray too) in charge ahead of kinnear or hughton like
  10. i put that one up, i can send you the files if you want?
  11. And west brom. But I was thinking the same earlier when someone mentioned having the Sir bobby Robson trophy every year. yeah, me and my mates were talking about that in the pub on weds night, about how it should be a yearly event at st james park
  12. i think, and i stand to be corrected, he played right back most of the time, so would have probably worn no 2?
  13. probably this one. feyenoord and the cup semi-final when rob lee scored come close though. actually, also seeing him there with the 'robson' shirt outside the old supporters shop at st james, sir bobby was here @ st james to sort us out
  14. no 1? it'd have to be #1, there's only one bobby robson, so it's a fitting number
  15. What? Odonkor has hardly played for 2 years so he's exactly like kieron dyer then?
  16. i went to st james on my dinner break from work, tied a small a4 size banner to the rails @ the front of the leazes. that was around 12:30 pm, quite a lot of fans had left flowers, shirts, cards with messages, even sunderland fans.
  17. Very good! Got tears in my eyes... Yes :'(
  18. Kept empty for ever. Black and white scarf and nowt else. This
  19. was that the 'just call me bobby' one? i remember a great bit in that with sir bobby enthusing about the quality of the wood used for the door frames
  20. Why not have both. Have his foundation on the back under the number all season? a very good idea
  21. :'( oh no thanks for everything bobby. england, newcastle, football has lost one of it's greatest sons. you'll be forever missed. rest in peace sir bobby
  22. i wish we'd signed smith in '04. the smith of '04 playing upfront with big al would have came on leaps and bounds. the smith we have now, the '09 post-broken legs, confused as to whether he's a midfielder or a striker thanks to fergie isn't a patch on the smith of '04
  23. Could have originated from the Sunderland Message Board though. I reckon it's all bollocks fwiw, made the day at work go more quickly though i had no idea what ftm meant, or was supposed to have meant for years. i always just naively assumed (having seen it as graffiti in gateshead) it stood for 'fuck the mackems' :-[
  24. fat lad (viduka) to sign for portsmouth? http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Pompey-close-in-on-new.5507946.jp
