Hasnt played as much as his lover Duff. Plus he is our most creative player. Agreed, he is our most creative player. But Duff didn't break a collar bone during the start of the season. Last thing I want to see is Jonas have to go under the knife like Martins (an injury I attribute to his over-playing while others were injured, personally). I know what you mean, but lets not forget this is a huge game for us and we are in a relegation battle, surely get the points before resting out best players? I guess Kinnear thinks N'Zogbia can suffice. I hope he's right, cause I want Jonas fit and fighting for the derby, and we really need him for the home games against Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea if we have any hope of a draw.

Are we sure he's not just resting Jonas? I love Jonas as much as anyone else, but he's played a lot since coming back from injury - best to protect a player of his calibre. Give him the second half, and play Zoggy on the left just to see how it works out. Kinnear out cause he's resting Jonas? Chill out, guys lol.

What do we need to do? 1) Implement a working management structure. Manager should be in charge, given funds, Keegan-style, though I'm not saying we need Keegan back. 2) There is no need, yet, to sack Kinnear. He's been asked to construct the Empire State Building with sand. 3) Move training ground - get these injuries sorted! 4) Reassess with a stable, powerful manager, funds and a decent squad.

I have a season ticket, but I'm done being a fan of this club. It's become a farce. I will continue to attend games because the players who have to wear the shirt deserve support. But that's it. The club is rotten to the core. Championship Football would at least force a total rethink of the club. But it would hurt us for decades, and will see the end of any hope of Newcastle attaining European football in the coming years. It's sad. It's really f**king sad.

Can't wait to see BBC's squad summary. Newcastle (from): Given, Coloccini, Owen Hull (from): Myhill, Ricketts, Turner, Zayatte, McShane, Garcia, Ashbee, Boateng, Barmby, Geovanni, King, Fagan, Cousin, Halmosi, Folan, Mendy, Marney, Featherstone, Doyle, France, Giannakopoulos, Duke, Warner. What an absolute joke. Let's try fielding an injured team: AMEOBI BEYE TAYLOR CACAPA ENRIQUE GONZALEZ BARTON SMITH MARTINS CARROLL VIDUKA -

I never expect it until about 2.20. -
He's going for the operation on Monday mate. "Sources close to the player have revealed that he has been booked in for a hernia operation later in the week if, as expected, he is not ready for a return." Looks like they're gonna play it by ear tomorrow first.

This is a f*cking farce :colo: http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/01/07/obafemi-martins-could-be-fit-to-take-on-hammers-61634-22622730/ May be back this weekend, might not need the op afterall.

Stupidly overpriced. Absolutely mental. To think Given was valued at £8m: Downing at £15m!? Nonsense.

STAY, SHAY I think we're short on time on this one, and if we want to keep Given we certainly can't count on the management and admin to achieve this. We're gonna have to use the power of the Toon 12th man, which means: - Banners at our next home game - all across SJP - with STAY, SHAY! and Premiership's #1! or similar such slogans. - Chants for Given behind his nets and preferably all around the ground. - Given face masks, anyone? - Massive cheers for saves, goal kicks, his name in the squad list before K/O. He's been underrated at the Toon because we've taken him for granted. I know we recognise him as a key player, but let's face it, he's more consistent than Owen and he IS our key to survival this season. If he still wants to leave, fair play to the lad, and thank you for 11 amazing years, I'll wish him the best. However, Shay's handed in a transfer request before and changed his mind. I do not doubt he loves the city and the club, it's just the 5-1 defeat was demoralising. Let's turn it around for him. But let's show him how much we appreciate him, and let's turn SJP into a spectacle on the 10th for West Ham, and ensure he's in no doubt as to our thoughts.
