  1. I don't mind Carroll scoring as long as we get something from the game, but if Suarez scored, I would have been royally p*ssed off.

Liverpool are definitely there for the taking now. If Santon plays, we should be able to nullify the threat they have on the wings (Bellamy and Downing), and I think our central midfield is more than good enough to dominate possession against them. Hopefully Ben Arfa gets a start because he'll love the big space that Liverpool always have between their defence and midfield, and Ba should get at least a couple of chances. Obertan will get raped by Enrique so that isn't an avenue that I could see us attacking from. Jonas had a decent game last year against their RB and I expect him to finally have a good game against Johnson.

We should play as high a line as we did against Bolton because they don't have the pace to get in behind us. Coloccini and Williamson had an easy time playing a high line on Monday because Bolton just couldn't get in behind us. If we play the ball on the ground then we should be able to at least get a draw out of this now that Suarez is out.

Plenty of pace from Bellamy, Downing and Rodriguez against a high line. Not sure it's the way to go. Huge difference between said 3 players and N'gog/Klasnic

  2. Carroll unlucky not to nick it in the 94th minute, Blackburn keeper (Not sure who it was tbh? didn't recognise him) with a cracking save

The keeper was Bunn. Played an absolute blinder! That save from Carroll was equivalent to a penalty save. Awesome in goal

  3. Just managed to catch up on this story and the thread as I've been away!!

:yikes: f*** me what a disgusting little cretin Suarez is, and what a pathetic self aggrandizing petulant embarrassment of a football club.

Cringeworthy to the point of nausea.

    "he'll never walk alone"

  4. I detest the little cunt as much as the next guy, but 8 games is definitely harsh considering the evidence. The FA have to present some very good evidence to support the length of that ban.

The reason I don't want Liverpool to be hard done by is because they always seem to make up for it in other ways (luck, suddenly turning good).

Suarez gets 8 game ban, thrash Newcastle 6-1 and 3-0 and finish 3rd. That's a scenario I would be terrified of.

  5. 28,600 at Hillsborough today. Sheffield Wednesday should be a Premier League club.

Agreed. And Wigan shouldn't. Playing in front of a half empty stadium at home to Chelsea ffs! I like Bobby Martinez and a couple of their players. The rest of the club is a waste of space.

  6. How good was colo today tho-  :snod:

    probs go next month

If we let him go then we are really shooting ourselves in the foot.  I am resigned to someone going in Jan, but out of Colo, Krul and Tiote I think I'd prefer Tiote to be the one to leave, simply for the fact that the other two are irreplaceable in our team at the moment.

Surely even Mike Ashley in his tower at the Sports Direct Arena (f*** off with that name) can't be that greedy.....

    Yeah right.

      :tickedoff:

  7. Watching Montpellier at home to Toulouse. A game that includes 4 players we've been linked with in recent times. M'Bengue scored for Toulouse, Tabanou has just got himself sent off for an elbow on Montpellier skipper Mbiwa, and Olivier Giroud is the f***ing real deal!

  8. Absolutely garbage result, obviously, but it sounds like the performance wasn't horrendous and we'd have lost that in years gone by. Disappointing but i wouldn't be surprised to see us bounce back with a win against WBA.

We wouldn't have lost the game in years gone by, I don't think Swansea had a shot all game.

Not on target they didn't. Had a dangerous chance that Sinclair put wide. Other than that, Krul made ONE catch from a corner, and that was it

  9. And, what exactly should he be saying?

I have no problem with the rest of what he said. Swansea did defend well, and were worth their point no doubt. I have no problem with him praising them whatsoever. The paragraph I quoted made it sound like our game plan was to contain them rather than go for the jugular. It's a sentiment I'd understand if we'd been playing away, or been playing a big side. Not Swansea at home, who've gained all of 2 points away all season!

  10. "I really can't complain too much about my side. We stopped them playing, which was the aim, to put them under pressure and force errors, which we did

    "

With all due respect to Swansea, Pardew sounds like he's talking about some big hitting side. I would even understand if he'd been saying this after a game away at their place. It's still Swansea City ffs, and our aim should be to win at home no matter what. What about the 2nd half Mr. Pardew?

  11. Puzzling stuff. Guess Pardew really does think he's a number 10 and nothing more :undecided:

I think that's what it boils down to ultimately. At that stage of the game, don't really understand why we need "wingers" any more than we need creativity to unlock a defence, win dangerous freekicks or even a penalty. Ben Arfa would have put them on the back foot and should have come on for Obertan or Jonas when Shola came on for Best.
