  1.

No surprise at the manner of defeat. No gripe with Pardew until they got their 3rd. Should have injected urgency and Ben Arfa into the game. They got nervous, especially after Ba pulled it back to 3-2. Ridiculous decisions from Gosling (to concede and get sent off), and the needless foul from Perch.

On the positive side, we know Santon exists, and can play a bit. Solid on his debut. Demba Ba is a very very good forward and scored two brilliant goals. Cabaye was good in midfield, but had too much to do. Simpson coped, Perch struggled. Obertan and Jonas anonymous.

    Roll on Swansea

  2. Are you all so blinded by your hate for Dalglish/Liverpool that you don't see the hypocrisy he's talking about?

"Luis is a fantastic footballer. People find it difficult to play against him. If they cannot beat him on the pitch because of his ability, they will try to get into people's minds. And that's what they try to do."

He continued: "If they are inconsistent (referees) with their interpretation, you can understand and put up an argument for every decision made, even if you don't agree with it. So a wee bit of clarity wouldn't go amiss.

"I think enough has been said about the game the other night and we don't want to put extra pressure on referees. We just want to be dealt with, like everyone else. If they've done that, then fine."

Dalglish was also quizzed about his views on the FA's successful appeal that means Wayne Rooney's England ban has been reduced two-matches.

He added: "I don't think it sets a very good standard that they appeal against Wayne's three-match ban. I think it calls into question their own disciplinary system.

"It's understandable because Wayne is a fantastic footballer, but it's not as if it was a 50/50 challenge he got sent off for, is it? If it's a straight red it's three games (suspension), so I don't know how they justify diluting it.

"If they can justify diluting Wayne's, then everybody else that appeals for a similar sending off in a Premier League game would expect to have their ban reduced. It's great news for England that their best player is going to be available for their last game, but I don't think it sets a very good precedent for everybody else."

 you think I'd feel sorry for a classless cheating little dweeb of a human being like Suarez? Fuck him and fuck Dalglish

  3. The fans didn't trust Ashley back then (and obviously still don't), so had nothing to be happy about when replacing Hughton with Pardew.

I genuinely would love to know how the appointment of Pardew came about. Did they listen to what he had to say and were insightful enough to recruit him on that basis? Or was it jobs for the boys? If Ashley genuinely had faith in him to produce the stuff on the football pitch and get results, then I hope he will continue to back him this January, as it is really crucial that he does.

    Well done AP

  4. His effort that hit the Ba had that been Rooney, RVP or one of the Man City boys then SSN would be having a wankfest over it, it was sublime skill.

I believe that was saved by Cech, if it's the flick you're on about. His header hit the post. Bloody good header mind.

  5. Loved that bit where he dinked the ball over Drogba and came away with it. Stylish defending.

I thought at the time "that's the Coloccini in him". Terrific bit of skill, and I bet he picks up the confidence to do that from his captain  :aww:

  6. Couldn't stop laughing driving in the car listening to the penalty save and subsequent goals for Wolves. Also, apparently O'Hara handled the ball just before Fletcher's 2nd? Even better

  7. This is a painful body blow for us. One really has to hope we strengthen in January, else we're fucked. So gutted for the lad. For all his faults he's a quality blood and thunder defender who can actually play a bit.

    Get well soon.

  8. Obviously injuries and that aside, I find myself desperately longing for the next match. The ridiculous non-red card only adds to that, but I'm just really enjoying watching us play these days, especially knowing we've got a good chance of winning each week.

 Agreed. Which is why I'm desperate for Ashley not to fuck this up this time. We really do have a good thing going on, and if he allows Pardew to strengthen in January we could really push on and get somewhere. We have some fabulous players, who with a stronger squad and a couple of additions can bring back the good times.
