  1. I thought we're already two years into the five year plan? Or are we now starting this five year plan from scratch?

Are they allowed to modify the original plan?

Is Kinnear in the new plan?

Wise up mate! He isn't exactly going to come out and say they're ditching JFK in the summer!

Absolutely love this smiley though....so i'm going to use it for the fuck of it  :harry:

  2. Highlights of the interview include:

:: Derek Llambias apologising to Toon fans and admitting that the board's silence since Kevin Keegan left was wrong.

:: A promise to give the fans a voice at the club.

:: Predicting that Newcastle will lose millions this year but maintaining "we are not a selling club".

:: Revealing that Mike Ashley believes Newcastle can challenge for EVERYTHING within the next five years.

Hmmmm...let's have the full text then. Looking forward to reading the whole thing

  3. I think the good thing about all of this is that the decision to keep Kinnear on as manager might be taken out of the club's hands if it's depending on medical advice. I can't see how managing a club like Newcastle can be advisable for a man with history of heart trouble who barely looks fit to walk 10 yards.

I hope the rumours of Curbishley are untrue, he's dull, buys badly and most of his players at West Ham seemed to despise him. If he comes here it will end up being more than half a season and it could turn into another Souness situation.

Where's all this talk of Curbishly? Horror of a manager!! Why would he want to come here?? Why t'fuck would we want him in the first place!

  4. IMO he is the type of manager we need to be looking at. Someone relatively unknown but with a CV that's improving all the time, who can come in, relate to the younger players, and be given time to work along the lines of the club's long term plan.

Martinez sounds like being just the ticket.

  5. You had potential young man, to be the best French player to grace this club along with Laurent Robert.

    ... and Ginola.

    ???

I knaa!! Ginola brought over bags of footballing grace with him. I remember our first game in them hoops against Sheffield Wed. Ginola played out of his skin and scored a cracking goal. Beardo's finish was immaculate too mind.

never forget his goal against ferencvaros...glorious

One of my favorite NUFC goals of all time naturally. Wish I could have a GIF of it in my sig *hint * hint

  7. I could see Hull being dragged in there, which would be amazing given their start.

BTW Modric probably should have won it for Spurs late on yesterday.

But he bottled it big time, and Almunia made him s*** his pants.

    Just needed a little chip.

or squared it to Bent who was in for certain

  8. I could see Hull being dragged in there, which would be amazing given their start.

  9. Defoe being out is a big blow as well... but somehow I just can't see them going down. They seemed to play well on MOTD last night, sure they've got enough to stay up.

They passed the ball around alright. But their side is chock full of pansy fannies with no bottle. Had Arsenal kept 11 players on the pitch, they would have rolled them over.

  10. Shearer's even more likely to pick the Butt, Smith, Geremi's and Duffs of our team. 'Experience matters in a relegation battle' they all say.

Like Butt has ever played in a relegation battle before?! Sheesh. Just wish WISH we'd got O'Neill when we appointed that c*** Souness.

Which is why he should not come now. He should come in the summer, rain or shine, have a massive clearout and assemble his own squad.

  11. Given wont break the appearance record then, how many games short is he?

I love Given and he has been a great servant and top class keeper, but his image has been slightly tarnished for me by leaving in January and releasing that letter through his lawyer.  I would of liked him to stick it out until the end of the season, see where we are and go from their.

More tarnished than him faking injury so he didn't have to play against City?

He didnt fake injury did he? I thought that was the "officila" line that clubs give.

officila club lines are a right bastard

  12.

Not terribly exciting news. Nothing exciting can ever come from Bolton really.

Yeah, Okocha, Djorkaeff, Hierro, Jaaskelainen - s*** they were! Not forgetting Gary Speed of course. Oh hang on - he came from you.

Stop reading the redtops and think for yourself.

As much as I loved Garry Speed, i'd hardly call any of those exciting, Speed had by far his best days with us.

Okocha = one of the biggest african underachievers in recent times

    You're being silly now.

Not really. Okocha could have had a far bigger career than he did in the end. Far more talented than to end up spending his good years playing for a non-entity club like Bolton. No doubt he was a class above when playing for Bolton, but unfortunately he couldn't hack it with the big boys.

tbh it was a dig at you for half talking shit on here. I have a lot of time for my Bolton supporting mates, and some of them know their football unlike others. I don't read redtops as Im not even in the UK at the moment.

  14. Newcastle are trying to offload flop Damien Duff to bring in Derby star Kris Commons.

Republic of Ireland winger Duff, 29, has been an expensive disaster at St James' Park since a £5million move from Chelsea in July 2006.

And Toon boss Joe Kinnear is under pressure to get Duff off United's crippling wagebill.

Former Nottingham Forest chief Kinnear, who took Commons to the City Ground in July 2004, wants to be reunited with the left-sided Scottish international.

But Wigan boss Steve Bruce is also a big admirer of £3-mrated Commons and is ready to swoop as he looks to spend his transfer windfall following the sales of Emile Heskey and Wilson Palacios.

Bruce and assistant Eric Black have been to watch Commons in the past week and are keen to do a deal.

Bruce has failed to land Reading's Stephen Hunt and Cardiff's Joe Ledley, citing 'crazy prices' as he bids to bolster his squad.

However, Commons is more affordable as Derby try to balance the books after a bad year and Wigan are poised to make an offer in the next 48 hours.

Been crying out for us to bring this lad in for donkeys now. Can't believe he's stayed down there so long. Class act imo. One of those who will make the step up no problem.

  15.

Not terribly exciting news. Nothing exciting can ever come from Bolton really. But as has been said, we're buying a strong character, and if he's fit enough to start premiership matches will be quite useful to us now. Similar fighting mentality to Butt's, with better technique and goalscoring ability. Probably the only player slower than Butt mind  :crazy2:

  16. I don't get this "city have all the cards" bullshit.

It's not as if the club's going into administration immediately. We're debt free and only need money insofar as much as it can buy us players.

It doesn't look like we're buying a lot of players (which certainly isn't a good thing, but howay nobody wants to come here what can you do.) So we don't need the money. There's every incentive for us to hold out and get a proper rate in the summer rather than letting them hold us to ransom.

CITY are the ones who should be under pressure. They need a keeper NOW.

    How do they?

They're under pressure to improve their squad and their league position.

    And we ARE NOT?!?!?!

Despite having cover that will see us through in that position.......

I'm with you on this in principle....

    BUT

How do Man City know he's unhappy? essentially because Given had come out with that statement by proxy. So essentially, Given himself has fucked us. The club are willing to sell him, but as long as they get what they think he's worth. They won't let him fuck us twice by declaring he's unhappy, and going on the cheap.

  17. This thread should be bumped on the day we get relegated, just so we can remember how good it could have been under KK.

Get a grip, and I don't mean of your penis as you look at a photo of KK.

    of your throat Nixon?

ooooh la la t'internet hard man

the internet frenchman,.....unusual for a frog to get involved in someone elses fight,... surrender monkey.

 that's a bit rich coming from a blinkered die-hard fan who thinks the sun shines out of Keegan's blow hole. The one true surrender monkey in all of this mess.

oooh!  you'll be getting PM'd abuse any second now dude...!

you actually believe your that cartoon character in your Avatar, dont you. ;D

      mackems.gif

    comedy gold!!!

    well....close enough

  18. I can't wait for Sunday. Mainly because I hope at last the ground might actually produce a decent atmosphere for a change.

I'm f***ing GUTTED that I'll be away on a f***ing business trip to Cairo :( better be able to catch the game at some f***ing tea parlor or summat

  19. This game on Sunday just becomes more important doesn't it? It's not about local pride any more, lose to these knackers and relegation becomes a step closer. Now I for one don't believe ninety minutes of football can get you relegated, but this fixture could do a hell of a lot of damage should it go the wrong way.

We're battered, humiliated, down in the dumps but for ninety minutes on Sunday lets just forget that. This game is huge, a draw doesn't do huge amounts of damage but a win could propel us up to eleventh and provides much needed momentum going into the game at the Hawthorns. Oh and losing? It's unthinkable.

You've heard this message before, but I'm not talking about "the cockney mafia" or positive supporting or any of this s***, its about saving our season. This game is a cup final as far as we're concerned and a damn important one at that. So let’s give these lads a reception they'll never forget. For ninety minutes lets give these players belief they can beat an average mackem side. For ninety minutes let’s stay united. In the words of Delia Smith: Lets be 'avin you.

    Howay the lads.

I bet mongs like NM wouldn't be happy with a rallying call and would rather boo everything including the fucking pigeons than support the players.
