  1. Leicester is closer to home for him and is currently a much better "project" unfortunately. It wouldn't be the greatest shock for him to be there once his contract expires.

    Think that's a good call actually  :'(

I think he likes as us fans though and our passion and commitment. Sees parallels with the scousers for some reason.

Not sure he’ll see Leicester fans in the same way but I agree that the pull of being closer to home and actually being allowed to compete for honours like a normal football club could be a big draw for him.

Don't confuse his love of fans with enjoying the £££ more. I doubt he gives two flying fucks for the fans here or anywhere he's been.

    What a fucking bell

  2. He's only a defender because his pace allows him to cover and recover from many different situations. He's not a particularly good defender and has more bad games (defensively) than good. He could never be a winger because he's so poor on the ball. His delivery is especially lacking at this (or any) level.

He definitely has an idea of how to play the attacking full-back role and sometimes can be really good at it but if he could only cross a ball he would be far more valuable. Can't believe a professional with his pace still has absolutely no idea how to beat a man and put in a decent cross.

  3. I think Ritchie is technically a very good player, he does put in some good crosses, and he has a winners attitude. The problem is his lack of pace means he's not much threat as a wide player and very easy to deal with for defenders. Also with us having a style where we like to sit back, he's useless on the counter because of the said lack of pace. I think he was actually a lot more effective for Bournemouth with their pressing style, although he'd be a liability defensively then.

Also, as neesy already said, he should be contributing a lot more assists, and goals for that matter considering he takes set pieces. Disappointing he's not more threat from free kicks.

If he's to have any kind of future in the top flight (with us or someone else) he needs to take a good look at what Milner has done for himself. Versatility has prolonged Milner's career IMO. He'd have been finished years ago if he only played on the wing.

  4. Why is he being written off as a departure in summer? Is his contract up/refused to sign a new one?

I've seen two stiffs matches this season and the kids who really stood out were Roberts, Woodman, S Longstaff, Sorensen and Adam Wilson. Looks like we have a decent coach in Ben Dawson as well.

Would love for us to secure safety with two or three games to go so we can blood these fellas in this season. Conversely if we go down with two or three games to go we can start them all in preparation for life in the championship. Either way they need some serious game time.

  5. Link to BTSport complaints:

I have objected to BTSport about Rio Ferdinand being given a platform to lie about NUFC despite having a clear conflict of interest due to his business dealings with Sports Direct.

Rio Ferdinand making false claims to attack Newcastle United fans on live television because of their well-documented protests against club owner Mike Ashley and his mismanagement of the club. Ferdinand made a series of pre-meditated, factually incorrect and inflammatory statements that have embarrassed him and brought into question the integrity of BT Sports in giving him a platform to defend his business interests with Sports Direct by attacking and deriding NUFC fans.

  6. How much would it cost to go out and get Haller, Almiron and say Ozyakup? Is it that far-fetched for a club of our size and income to bring in rising talent like that? I know it's a fantasy but fucking hell Mike Ashley man  :(

  7. Well that makes it his style of play you daft wallop.

No it doesn't. That is the simplest way of looking at things, with absolutely no depth of reasoning at all.

He's right man. Rafa's Liverpool teams thrashed the likes of Real Madrid and Man Utd playing turgid defensive hoofball. You know nothing m8

  8. Just off the top of my head for this season, we should have had penalties for the following:

    - Handball away to Man U

    - Elbow on Perez vs Wolves

    - Tackle on Yedlin just before he shot wide (can't remember who it was against)

    - Some fucker holding Kenedy before pulling him down (can't remember against who)

Also Perez goal vs Huddersfield should have stood, and arguably Rondon's against Watford.

Potentially 7-9 (maybe more) additional points we could have had, provided we scored from the penalties awarded and went on to manage the game well.
