The whole concept of "winning" a penalty is awful. Should never be about "winning" a penalty for your team. Just hate that terminology, and the fact it's easily accepted as a widespread attitude in the game.
  2. I guess managers are going to stick up for their teams as much as possible, some more delusionally than others. McLeish is hardly alone in coming out with comments like that but it's just stupid. "I saw the one that benefitted us even though it wasn't a penalty, but I magically didn't see theirs." Come off it, you liar.
  3. Absolutely hate it when managers do that. Stop treating us like idiots you lying twat.
  4. Need Werder to score - they're playing 9 men Hertha Berlin at home and they're not winning.
  5. Villa look intent on drawing their way to success.
  6. Meh. I have a feeling David's going to be about 30 times more pissed off than I'm going to be.
  7. You guys have been playing some terrible stuff for the two matches Ive seen. Lucky to get a point against us, and looking really lucky to get even one point even if it looks like youll get all 3. They pulled the same trick against us, though they do that pretty much every year. It's like they lull you into thinking they're shit.... they actually end up playing shit, but by the time you've worked out what they're trying to do, they've already committed daylight robbery.
  8. How long are Villa going to last playing shit yet somehow picking up points? It's like an elaborate episode of 'Faking It'.
  9. Actually think Villa could nick this. QPR aren't looking ruthless.

Stop twisting the argument man, no-one mentioned anything about them playing "brilliant football". The issue at hand is there's an exaggeration of how well Stoke are doing. As I've said, Pulis has done well in establishing them in this league, but as Sewelly says there's this fantasy that he's been working with limited resources. They've had a fair bit to spend but doesn't seem intent on progressing the team as a footballing entity which is very disappointing to see.

He's built 2 or 3, chopped them apart again and ended up going back to the same old crap repeatedly. They play shite football and use some of the most dirty under-hand tactics going yet get praised to the heavens for it. All of which wouldn't be too much of an irritance if the myth about 'limited resources' didn't get bandied about all the time. They've got massive resources, what they're doing now should be the minimum requirement. I'm actually surprised their fans aren't asking questions yet, and are too interested in this rather than looking at the bigger picture and thinking, that actually, it's about time they improved. The impression I get is they tend to thrive on a siege mentality. They seem to enjoy being labelled as nasty old Stoke with their long throw-ins and physical, direct play. Pulis I think has done a good job so far in terms of establishing them in the Premier League but with the resources they have available, they should be looking at improving their football and progressing as a club. But it seems the club as a whole is relishing the whole "everyone hates Stoke" mentality that's knocked about.
  12. I have to agree that QPR need a: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--yC7JB37-_Q/Tjb0rfHvIVI/AAAAAAAAABg/hic8Q61htt8/s400/Matt%2BStriker.jpg
  13. That long diagonal ball then the first touch from whoever that was... that was pretty sexual. Was it Faurlin with the long ball? Really like the look of QPR. Just hope for their sake they can turn these sorts of performances into points.
  14. If QPR had a quality striker I'd fancy them for top 10. I certainly don't think they'll go down, but they may find themselves in a bit of trouble if they don't get more ruthless. Reckon they'll finish about 12th.
  15. Villa have been very fortunate to be unbeaten so far. If QPR play like they did against Wolves or indeed yous, I'd expect them to turn Villa over. Cue 1-0 win, Agbonlahor probably.

    La Liga

I think it's worth pointing out Barca have now destroyed Atletico and Villarreal 5-0. These are 2 sides who would wipe the floor with the majority of the Premier League. Another demonstration of Barca's unerring brilliance.
  17. That's some feat. Aye. 18 on that list.

    Sunderland...

He's a very tidy player, yes, and didn't get the headlines Adam did, but he's not the sort of player who is going to help Sunderland really progress. Along with nearly all of Bruce's signings.

    Sunderland...

Amount of money as well as time. Short has released plenty of funds for Bruce to play with and what does he buy? Mediocrity. Surprisingly, that will result in a mediocre season.
  20. A year away from Chelsea in a domestic cup competition was obviously too much to ask for.
