  1. Well i dont expect a takeover to happen BUT when/if it finally does i expect a long term strategy to implemented

The first priority would be for Shearer to be manager - then we need to be patient whilst he gets rid of the crap and brings in new players

I would not expect us to get promoted simply because there isnt enough time left til the season starts, so a push for promotion would be for next season

  2. With another season with Ashley in charge...there might not be a Newcastle United, with a ground worth enough of staging WC games in 2018.

St James's Park is owned by Newcastle council, and the bids are not from the football clubs, but from the cities, so Newcastle's position does not count, only that of the ground and city facilities.

I thought the ground was owned by the football club (well Ashley really)

No, he paid for some sort of lease, meaning that the freehold is held by Newcastle city council, and that if NUFC where to ever not exist (god forbid) or move away etc, then the lease would be terminated and Newcastle city council would be left with a stadium.

Unless Ashley knocked it down or turned it into a Sports Direct warehouse?

  4. Florida print didn't have what I was looking for, again just do Premier League and England stuff.

What about the one opposite the Civic Centre, just down from Haymarket but before you get to Luckies bar?

I'm not sure on their selection, but they pride themsleves on shirt printing, worth giving them a try, even if they don't do it they may know somewhere that do.

Don't suppose you know what it's called, so I can give them a ring without making the trip?

I think the place he is talking about is called Spectrum Imaging

    This is there website http://www.spectrumimaging.co.uk/tshirts.htm

Tho im not sure whether they are useful for footy shirts

  5. Dunno why they'd want him. He's not Premiership standard.

Which isnt an issue since we are no longer in the Premiership

David Edgar needs to be play more games - he hasnt had a proper run in the side and he wasnt even sent out on loan earlier which would have helped him and us.

I would definately keep him as i think he is more than good enough for the Championship and i dont think he is on silly money

  6. Northern Echo suggests Edgar is on the verge of signing for Birmingham. Seems a bit silly to let him go, unless he is rejecting a reasonable contract offer.

You reckon this mob would be offering him a contract - stupid cunts probably think its gonna help the wage bill

  7. Shepherd is the lesser of two evils. If he is genuinely the only other option to Ashley, then he is the better choice.

I dont see how there is anything more to the discussion on it than that.

    Exactly

Its a non-contest if its Ashley V Shepherd

Obviously an alternative rich owner in the Randy Lerner mould would be fantastic BUT if that doesnt arise then Shepherd would do

  8. Oh well, that's OK then, the lesser of two evils. FFS.

Nobody said it was okay BUT thats life

Being relegated isnt ideal nor what we wanted BUT thats to Ashley its what has happened

If its a choice between keeping Ashley or Fred returning then i would gladly take Fred back

  9. The amount of money Shephard took out of the club was by no means a small sum, and he never actually risked his own bank account in the process (on the contrary, I would not be in the least bit surprised if he made a real killing out of us) - in fairness to Mike, he's taken a bigger financial loss than the combined income of NO's membership, in all likelihood. So, why the hell are people painting FS out to be some sort of saviour/saint, and Mike some kind of devil whose only purpose in life was to make all of us miserable?

Maybe cos Mike has made us all bloody miserable despite having many opportunities to prevent that

  10. Yes - Shepherd was a c*** (probably still is) BUT deep down i believe he wants the best for us - he would like to see us succeed, obviously he went about it the wrong way previously as chairman and i was glad to see the back of him.

BUT Ashley is vile, scum of the highest order - he has been a nightmare. Cudnt have imagined he would be this bad

Shepherd would certainly spend money and give Shearer the backing required to get us back in the Premiership. Also granted we spent daft money of players under Shepherd i reckon with Shearer in charge things would be different so i would take Shepherd back. I would be delighted more cos Ashley has gone rather than Shepherd is back

Obviously it would be better if a multi billionaire russian/arab bought us BUT thats just dreamland stuff - we are newcastle united, dreams like that dont happen in reality  :-[ :-[

The ONLY reasons he will want us to succeed will be for his own ego and to fill his bank account.

Just out of interest, how much money will Sheperd have invested in the club as opposed to Ashley if this were to happen?

Probably less than ever supporter on here.

The real question is, how much did he take out of the club?

    People seem to forget:

He regularly threatened websites who were against him.

He did the same to the local journo's who opposed him and TBF Luke Edwards and Neil Farrington must take the credit for that.

He initially tried to shut down some of the fanzines, until he realised he couldn't.

As stated above, he took more money out than he invested.

He embarrassed us at an international level.

He went behind the managers back, as has been documented and signed players.

He was far to involved with agents, even his prick of a son had an office at SJP.

That's just off the top of my head, I'm sure if I really tried to think I could easily double the size of the list.

Anyone who wants him back would be like choosing AIDS over Ebola.

    NO.

So be it - if we succeed then who cares whether its due to ego or some other reason

Im not too sure whether its purely about money since there are far better investments to make

End of the day Ashley is a fucking cunt of the highest order - Shepherd is undoubtedly a cunt too BUT certainly lesser of the two evils

  11. Yes - Shepherd was a c*** (probably still is) BUT deep down i believe he wants the best for us - he would like to see us succeed, obviously he went about it the wrong way previously as chairman and i was glad to see the back of him.

  12. Harper was a very good backup keeper - playing here and there was fine and he did a decent job

BUT in the last few months he has shown he isnt as good as we thought he was - he is a decent keeper at best.

Either we start playing Krul or we can look for another keeper
