  1. Yeah it does rather feel like Levy trying to be clever. Again.
  2. Yeah but you’re a Newcastle United fan and a bit of a blowhard . Whether you would or would not have signed it is completely irrelevant. The fact is, he did sign it. You can certainly speculate as to why, but he’s very much not an idiot. I’m guessing that he was torn. He loves Spurs, but Man City was a fantastic opportunity. If we’d have kicked on after Poch he’d be laughing. We didn’t. Levy played hardball.
  3. He’s just a neat little CM, the kind that we’ve produced a few of over the years. Two-footed, comfortable on the ball, good at keeping possession. Not very exciting. The kind of player who “does a job” but never really amounts to very much.
  4. He played regularly in the U21s and Southgate was focused on trying to bring those players through to their full caps and foster continuity.
  5. My wife was incredibly anxious and made me turn the penalties off. Glad I did tbh.
  6. Oof. I’ll try . First things first: Seems pretty shrewd to me. I’d say building the club from what it was in the early 2000s at a time of significant financial doping elsewhere while preparing the ground (literally) for the redevelopment was a terrific achievement, and self-evidently shrewd. As for Kane, who apparently still has to… I don’t really know what’s going on. There are certainly two camps among the fans regarding Kane, and two regarding Levy. I feel like the people who just want to sell Kane for the money are getting more numerous by the day, particularly with the change in tactics. As far as replacing him - well you can’t really, not without the Champions League money and attraction. You just thank your lucky stars (and frankly, your shrewd operation) that you already have Richarlison and Son on the books and look for a younger player to develop. Like this Argentinian kid. I presume all parties are pissing about. Just look at that Bild journalist and that recent article about “actually Kane is a bit shit”. Personally I think there will never be a better time to move him on.
  7. First chance to properly watch the US. Think they look OK tbh. Am I imagining it or is Horan carrying some extra lumber?
  8. Brilliant header from Norway. Japan are going to be so tough to beat, but high crosses into the box are going to be part of it.
  9. Yup. Lovely own goal notwithstanding: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/66414435
  10. Do you read it more now you’re doing well? I feel like I flipped a switch about 10 years ago when I just sort of opted out. Like, I still read stuff. I just don’t get particularly exercised by it. Until somebody’s actually signed on the dotted line, it’s all guff. I get more annoyed by other people thinking stuff is gospel tbh. I think that’s the main time I post in this thread - when people get over-excited about some bilge. Don't get me wrong though, I’m still on the side of the transfer window as a whole. It’s much better that teams know where they stand near the beginning of the season and at the beginning of Feb, and can’t throw money at people all season long.
  11. All down to Southampton. They kept the ball beautifully.
  12. Stuart Armstrong’s been really good.
  13. Always happens. What changes have they made? Southampton been really bloody impressive in added time.
  14. Exactly the goal they’ve been working for.
  15. Does feel like this is what every single team is going to try to do - or have to try to do - against Southampton.
  16. Some of that is Sheffield Wednesday getting everybody back behind the ball all the time. Also Adam Armstrong not being enough of a nuisance, which is as it ever was tbh.
  17. 6 second rule for keepers not a thing any more then?
  18. Oh right, had no idea, that’s bizarre.
  19. Why? Genuine question. Do the Saudis have part-ownership of Fulham?
  20. Not a chance. He’s afraid of heights
  21. Just got back from picking my wife up at Euston and as we got home heard screaming in the street. The family two doors down are Jamaican Man, that was something I missed about London.
