  1. Not many games on tonight, but I wish Gibraltar v New Caledonia was on TV somewhere.
  2. Wanted him to just keep on running into the long grass. Who was that band member on Soccer AM who casually twatted the ball into the net then ran off down the road?
  3. Yeah, I think the thing that shocked me was that I presumed your better prospects were either in the first team squad or on loan. I know your first team squad is relatively old (26.6yo - https://www.givemesport.com/average-age-every-premier-league-squad/) but there are younger players like Miley and Hall. We have far too many young players in the squad and are hoping they all develop - like, nine players 22yo or younger. Our best prospects who aren't in the squad are the 10 on loan, plus the two 16-year-olds who played for the U21s. Again, it's telling how far ahead Chelsea are with this stuff, in particular, their ability to monetize these players. We had a really good young keeper who played last season for Orient and was a significant factor in them nearly getting promoted. Sold him to Luton for 1M basically because he didn't qualify as club-trained. Chelsea are selling these guys for tens of millions.
  4. Yeah I wondered about that, because your U21 team seemed so poor this weekend. I checked it out - you only had two starters less than 18yo - Finneran and Wooster. We had four, including one 16-year old and one who turned 17 last Wednesday. I then wondered if you had a few kids out on loan, but as far as I can tell it's only Cordero. Is that actually right? We have got at least 10. I knew your youth programme was a way behind but that genuinely surprised me. I think that's a stark contrast, and we're behind Chelsea and Arsenal.

    The Other 18

I don’t know to what extent that’s happening/not happening but there are a significant amount of Arsenal-supporting journalists and pundits out there, as there are with Liverpool. We’ll just have to hate them more and call them out more vocally in response. I’m fine with that.
  6. Yeah the analysis saying the same thing. It was a disaster in Europe, and I'd love to exploit it with Udogie.
  7. How many times has Arteta been booked this year? Genuine question.
  8. Szobos-whatever looking like a liability once again in that RB area. I wish we had a proper LW.
  9. It pisses me off no end that Chelsea get The Liquidator.
  10. A blast from the past at the end of the news just now. She did the old "if you'd rather wait to hear the results look away now, there are new leaders at the top of the Premier League, Arsenal, who won 2-0 against West Ham" FFS
  11. Didn't realize this had happened, just watching the Football League highlights and it didn't look pretty.
  12. Apologies, but genuinely, my instinctive thought was "Thank fuck for VAR".
  13. Lovely Panenka for Plymouth too.
  14. Unbelievably bad offside decision for Coventry’s third goal.
  15. Arsenal surely going to win it this year.
  16. It’s the classic asteroid match.

  18. I feel like the Germans should have a word specifically for sporting schadenfreude.
  19. I guess this is win-win for you guys but I’d love another Amorim special today.

    England

Yeah somebody posted something similar over on Reddit. Anderson and Quansah are 22, Madueke and Rogers are 23, Lewis-Skelly is 17. It’s not like he’s not picking young players. There are always going to be people who bang the drum for a particularly player. I did it for Waddle when Graham Taylor was manager, the guy on Reddit above was doing it for TAA, Sibierski and others are doing it for Wharton. Plenty are doing it for Bellingham, Foden etc. He can’t pick all of them.
  21. No beef at all, just they’ve been incredibly good, had no Europe and hardly any injuries. We’re very much a work in progress. 10 points from Man City, West Ham, Brighton and Leeds away is incredible tbh.
  22. Man, winning the early Saturday game is such a great feeling. Can enjoy the weekend. Also, us being above Bournemouth in the league is hilarious.
  23. A win before an international break? What is this witchcraft?

There’s always going to be someone. I had a brief argument with somebody on Reddit about TAA. Can’t remember the exact details but they said he was one of the top 2 English fullbacks and it wasn’t even close, then kept saying if he was fit it was completely insane that he wasn’t in the squad.
