His job isn't to coach the defence, he's the manager. Keep hammering away with the negativity Mick, you must enjoy your life.
  2. So inclined towards negativity some of you There are several viable reasons we didnt play well, i dont understand why you'd prefer to overlook them to find fault with someone whos been such a part of our improvement. To feel like you have some sense of "realism" that others are missing? What are you achieving? You'll have to wait to see if we improve like the rest of us, but you choose to hold doubt over belief? Ultimately you could argue against your own points easily, you choose how to percieve it & you are choosing the negative pov.

Conveniently ignoring that it was Pardew that built and achieved those things. I don't think this is really true. If a different manager had been appointed by Ashley, I think the personnel of the side would be pretty much identical. His biggest strength has been sorting our defence, the issue he said was his job to sort in training. Doing that + Ba's goals were the main reason we were so high before Cisse arrived. Not any manager could've done that. This season has been very similar re Ba's goals, but we lost defensive players.

Has Ferguson shown anything, other than crossing ability, to suggest he's ready to start games at LB in the premiership? He's started league games before and done well. Always looked very positive when he comes on too., which is something we're missing. He's only impressed in the limited game time he's had, hindu. Deserves a crack - don't think anyone is suggesting he'll definitely be up to task, but he is a promising alternative to a system which clearly doesn't work. When we lose a first team defender midgame & dont have Cabaye infront of Tiote* Hes definately more suited to that side going forwards, but we've yet to see whether that would be balanced out defensively in comparison to Santon. In the air he'd obvously be much weaker for one, it may not be needed if we've sufficient creativity on the pitch. Otherwise he definately offers an extra attacking option to consider yeah.

Williamson has strengths, hes strong in the air and largely kept Pog out of it. Won 11 in the air, Tiote was next with 6. We could rotate him & Perch sure, but this isnt applicable to todays game anyway. I agree he's poor with his distribution & yeah our set piece routines are baffling also aye. The style of play is difficult to judge largely due to Cabayes involvement for me, hes either been covering for Tiote being out or hes out himself. Very few wouldve started Fergie & Ba/Hatem have been expressing themselves. Cisse is the issue. Marv on bench was an option yeah. I dont see how we were tailored to protect ourselves though, his options were limited. It just says to me if Cabayes out & Barfa has a poor game we'll struggle to create, which isnt that suprising really.

Aye ok, Tiote unlocking their defence was clearly the secret key Pards didnt use. Outside of that Tiote/Cabaye havent played together yet this season properly, ofcourse having Cabaye infront of him could help our attack. Fuck knows what you're arguing about as usual. Just stop replying to my posts dude Waste of both our time.

When 2 of them play upfront you do need to get the ball there in the first place Jack. That requires someone deeper whos more creative, complicated stuff.

Dropping Williamson (who was our best defender today) for the likes of Ferguson, Tavernier & Anita? what? Better utilizing the likes of Santon, hatem & Demba? Those 3 have specifically been our best performers in the last few games in the exact positions they started in today & Cabaye was out injured. Reality is we had to play with two holding midfielders today due to lack of options & our wingers didnt turn up. Having a debate about whether we should have signed more players is very fair after today. The "Pards tactics were shocking" is a load of nonsense. We had no creative outlet, its that simple.
  9. Think its hard to say due to Cabayes recent form/tiote being out. If we can get him on song & feeding both strikers, good passing football you'd imagine it would work. Being central definately suits Ba more though. No reason to change 4-3-3 which Cisse/Barfa were successful in apart from to accommodate him.
  10. Worth considering at Lb & Santon at Rb as people have mentioned. Seems similar to Baines attacking wise, wonder how his set pieces are.
  11. I can't believe his post after what he was saying the other day. Whys that? I believe that team shouldve done better. Poor performances are to blame moreso than any lineup. Barfa barely got into the match 2nd half, was his performance due to Pardew also? Because you were basically saying the other day that our refusal to sign players to improve the squad was fine and never costs us, nor is it likely to. Now you're suggesting Pardew's options were too limited to put out a half-decent lineup. I just said the team shouldve done better, the lineup was good enough to me. Id have expected us to still control that midfield & our wingers to do much better. I also said there wasnt any basis to doubt our squad, if we're going to play like today without Cabaye then theres your first strong basis for doubt welldone aye. That game did make Guthrie look a big miss & Anita apparently cant replace that.
  12. Just ignore him. Disrespectful that bud from someone who generally fails in any debate he has.
  13. About the best shout you'd have is dropping barfa behind the front two to link midfield. Putting your best 3 attacking players infront of Tiote, Bigi & Jonas today wouldnt have created wonderous football. Cabaye missing was a huge loss. The natural side line you're overplayng.

  15. What? Not that hard to comprehend mate. How would you have set up the team otherwise? Our bench options were poor.
  16. Geniune question, how else would you lot have set up the team? We've had a shocking match, not sure you can blame Pardew for the lineup.
  17. Anita & Ameobi on the bench are literally our closest attacking options.
