  1. Don't think Fergie will see it like that against Man City tomorrow like. Yeah but we're playing Wigan. This side drew with Spurs, a vastly superior side to these, there's enough to get the job done. Fergie changing his team for liverpool is potentially what cost them the win, nowt wrong with sticking with a performing side aye. Just hope the others get a bit more time than 20 mins.
  2. Understand why hed not change it to an extent Thought Benny Arfa would be starting though
  3. Only someone with the powers of Ben Arfa can overcome the amount of jinxing thats been done to us for this game. Well excited now!
  4. Newcastle United v Wigan Athletic stats: Ryan Taylor has scored four goals in this fixture, all while playing for Wigan. There have been four goals scored in the final five minutes of the last four meetings between Newcastle and Wigan. Newcastle are unbeaten in 11 consecutive PL games for the first time since August 1997 (W5 D6). Steven Taylor has blocked more opposition shots than any other player in the Premier League this season (14). Wigan have won just one of their last 12 Premier League trips to play the three north east teams (W1 D5 L6). Wigan have lost their last five Premier League games in a row, their worst run since November 2007 Only Wolves (6%) and QPR (7%) have converted a lower percentage of shots in to goals than Wigan (9%). Wigan have only scored seven goals in their last nine Premier League matches and just three in their last six matches away from home. Newcastle have the joint-best defence in the Premier League conceding just six goals so far, along with two clubs from Manchester. The Magpies' defenders have cleared five shots off the goal-line this season, more than any other team.

That's the size of a house, the ball would run down the pitch. You on the wind up here? http://www.nufc.co.uk/page/Club/History/StJamesPark

It's when you lose the ball 10 yards outside your own penalty area with most of your team-mates upfield that it's a real problem. He could have lost us the game at that point. I think he'll also have to get used to a different style of refereeing. Challenges which would probably be called a foul on the Continent are often waived on by English refs. He'll have to be a bit more conservative in deciding when to try and beat a man or hang on to the ball. Not a lot, just a bit. Agree. Its fine saying "we just have to accept he'll lose the ball sometimes" when the two times he does it lead to the opposition wasting big chances to win the game. Im still a bit unsure as to his ability to score goals rather than create them, he'll need to do both if we only have one striker & after he came on it didnt seem like we had much in the box at times.

Pool fans watching our game, reaction to our equaliser half way down: http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=281910.1040 Nearly celebrated it as much as we did

Helped change the game in our win against liverpool 3-1 last season. Got koscielny sent off in our 1-0 win v Arse also. His attitudes obviously an issue & seems like hes fallen out of favor which might have knocked his motivation. Just get him out on loan & tell him to prove himself again, he just needed goals.
  9. 7 Aye something like that, so much is based on confidence to after positive results and building momentum. Boltons run of initial fixtures was really unfair tbh, not many teams would be above the bottom 5/6 after that.

Its utterly bizarre seeing people say he was playing like messi on other forums. Us witnessing it is one thing, other people seeing it aswell just makes it even more real & im still slightly confused.

    Alan Pardew

Been said before but people definately go over the top with slating players, the managers job is to hold faith in their ability and Pardews doing it very well. Some were absolutely destroying Raylor & Pardew for starting him against QPR due to nothing but heinsight. Since then hes made a goalline block against wolves & got an assist against Tottenham (he should have had more than one) to help us to 4 points in 2 games along with keeping the wingers on his side quiet in the 4 games since QPR. Yet again around we go with Simpson instead now. Because him being part of what has been the best defence in the country means nothing & hes obviously s****. Bit laughable.

Not in the last 6+ pages, but Kaka put us all straight.
  13. Hope for a win 3-1. As said in his thread, think this would be a nice game to give Benny some time.
  14. Aye, Krul gets overlooked by me at times, but I'm 100% confident with him in goal. He is already a top keeper and will only get better. Improved massively in the last year, and considering he was pretty f***ing good a year ago, that's saying something His decision making has improved massively. He used to come out and make errors, now he seems to know his own pace/height far more & can judge situations very accurately. Hes been pure class really.
  15. I don't think we did. We did after 15 mins or so, was all us their pen was fully against the run of play they were playing it long by then.
  16. So their whole period of play leading up to the goal followed obertan losing the ball on a break
  17. Where was this? There were loads of mentions of him & lennon potentially destroying our fullbacks. Barely turned up.
  18. Sour grapes from their fans, we outplayed them. They had a few clear chances to, but they had Adebayor & Vdv upfront so youd expect it.
  19. Put Man city, playing very well. I think we've enough to expect results against anyone other than the top 3 atm.

Hes done it before hasnt he. Like the Carling cup against chelsea, couple step overs runs at Alex & then bends it in from 35 yards with ease. Then sends two defenders flying with a last minute header to win the game. Its in there somewhere, fuck knows how you unleash it with any regularity. You probably cant.
  21. Again, didnt notice parker really. Saw him make several simple passes & run about a lot, lost the ball to tiote a few times. Wonderful.
  22. 3 goals hes directly influenced in the last two games now. Looks full of self belief going fowards now, beats 2 men in a row for fun. Impressive.
