No use him being there. We try to direct the play through him when they dont bother to attempt any real creativity and it generally fails. His best skill is making it look like hes been pushed over by someone half his size constantly. People seem to think he did well yesterday because he linked the play, he linked the play because the defenders are more interested in being tight to Rooney. Rooney was having to drop into midfield just to recieve the ball. Seems obvious, Heskey is not enough of a danger to be in our side. It was just one of a few things that hampered us badly yesterday.

I think far to many people think its a deeper issue than it is. There is a reason we are in the top 10 in the world. Something obviously has changed now theyre in the world cup. It isnt due to them not knowing the basics of football atall.

For what? To beat f***ing Algeria and Slovenia? Rubbish. England remind me of Newcastle in the relegation season. On paper having the players to do really well, but the players being devoid of confidence, motivation and not at all functioning as a team unit. Basically as simple as that. All of those effect eachother.

Theyre good enough, just not in that system. Maybe its underestimating Algeria to assume we would beat them regardless of how awful our formation is. Many teams so far have shown a fluid team is far more important. We dont have that atall & it hasnt worked.

We should be embarrassed to get through this group if the USA are knocked out on GD now after today. Really hope we both get through

But that's the thing, they aren't trying. It's not like they went down fighting tonight, they were totally spineless. I dont believe theyre out there on that pitch and not trying. Rooneys own anger at the end there shows his frustration. We went down with a whimper because they played awful football & couldnt keep the ball let alone create.

They could barely control the ball, somethings up when thats not a joke. You could blame the ball, the pitch, the nerves, the formation/system, the players themselves, the manager. As always itll be a combination of all of them. Just didnt work.

To be fair to Rooney, i understand his frustration. Its not like they arent trying. They are trying, it just didnt work. Booing him doesnt mean he can try any harder. Hes likely just as frustrated as all of us, this is a big stage to prove himself and nothings happened. Best we can hope is that Capello completely changes the system and it just clicks. It really cant involve Heskey im afraid & Joe Cole has always had that spark that means he HAS to be included.

What do they expect though after pissing qualifying and being the top scorers in Europe? For all the 'easy' s**** on the Sun's front page, their flagship advert (with Venables singing) admits winning it is still a dream. Even the likes of Ladbrokes - who WANT you to think they will win - have through their adverts basically admitted you have to be bonkers to believe it. If you qualify like we did then the pressure is going to be high. They've generated it themselves. I agree, i dont think its anyones fault really. Theyve just no leaders on the pitch. Shearer, Pearce, Beckham etc. They dont have the balls to represent us, they are so massively uncomfortable on the ball. No confidence atall.

Proven winner at just about every club he has been with. Good one. And can't get the best out of players who've dominated in Europe for years. He could have made much better changes, but honestly we just played Algeria. Somethings up.
