  1. Give us confidence? We are improving as a side, we've played awfully today but its one game. We've been unlucky not to win the last few since Norwich.
  2. Good to get away with three points. They played like we have the last couple weeks, deserved to win but couldnt put it in. Elliot won us the game today just as Butland kept Stoke in it last week.
  3. Cant deal with them closing it down, so they know we'll hit it long. Then they just double mark Mitrovic & win it back. We need to just keep passing it low.
  4. We were down to 10 men man Being down to 10 men means you can't defend corners in any way? Free header and tapped in by some random on the line. When did they work it into midfield for a free shot on the edge of the area when we had 11 men? Thats what lead to the corner. They have an extra man in midfield & our men are working harder. The shot doesnt get closed down quickly enough. Set piece reaction was poor. Bar that it obviously effected everything. They didnt look like having real attacks when we had 11 men, let alone scoring 3. They had barely any when we had 10 men. And Sunderland are not that bad at defending with everyone behind the ball.
  5. Tbf Martin tyler mentioned it during commentary of Man Utd/Man City. Called it a decision you dont see at any level in the football league essentially. Fairly sure others will see it as a joke, the bbc are reporting it as such.
  6. Defended poorly for one goal, which still needed to make it through legs. All teams have a hard time against sides who put everyone behind the ball, unless they have an Ozil like Arsenal needed to open up everton.
  7. Why do you keep posting this crap as if completely unaware of what just happened in the game to cause that result. Your reasoning is extending about as far as "yer but theyre rubbish tho". Its been explained enough man.
  8. Exactly this team is in deep s*** and some people on here are either blind, sheep or totally clueless. This train of thought makes no sense. You cannot just ignore context due to the result when its so heavily weighted. We lost a man & a goal, the whole momentum switched. Mitrovic then missed a sitter & we have to attack. Our side is obviously not good enough to defend games out, we've seen that already. Expecting 10 men to take it too them is unrealistic, anyone outside the top 2/3 would struggle.
  9. On bbc: Madley though believed there was an infringement and, having awarded the penalty, was left with little choice but to send him off for preventing a goalscoring opportunity. The Football Association's law on impeding an opponent says: " A player who places himself between an opponent and the ball for tactical reasons has not committed an offence as long as the ball is kept within playing distance and the player does not hold off the opponent with his arms or body. "If the ball is within playing distance, the player may be fairly charged by an opponent." Its not even debatable.
  10. If that was Pardew at 2-0 down he swaps Dummett for Haidara. Atleast Mclaren gave it a go with Thauvin. Probably lead to Fletcher being free in Dummetts position for the 3rd but whatever. Atleast try.
  11. did you watch the game? this seems like an emo note to failure from someone who didn't watch what unfolded Yeah, I watched it until 2-0. The referee was terrible yes, but I think looking at the referee is just a sidenote. Pre-Pardew/Ashley Newcastle teams 1-0 down and a man down would have fought back to a 1-1 against a team as pitiful as that, s*** ref or not. looking at the referee is a sidenote? you've all lost it, totally lost it like You'd have a point if we'd lost 1-0. It is a sidenote, as I've said, pre Pardew/Ashley teams would have fought back for a draw in that situation against a team as s*** as that. Do you disagree with that point? It would have been 1-1 if Mitro hadnt missed a sitter tbf. The main issue ive seen is our ability to close players down. Fletchers looped deflected shot that went out for the corner for the 2nd, was a result of no one going to him quickly enough. Bar that they've lucked out with the man being sent off & penalty.
  12. Eh? We completely dominated the game with 11 men and could easily have been 2 or 3 up. But we weren't 2 or 3 up. man. Please stop being a tool. I'll be alright thanks. The day I take instructions from you will be a sad day indeed. Its not a strong point anyway. Sunderland last season: Arsenal 0-0 Sunderland Sunderland 0-0 Swansea Sunderland 1-1 Man Utd Sunderland 0-0 Chelsea Liverpool 0-0 Sunderland They have proven that if they sit back they can keep a game tight. Its hardly ridiculous to not score when they get everyone behind the ball, thats all they are good for. Its when they dont do that they are vulnerable. Southamptons 8-0 was the same season as the above results. Its how they approach the game.
  13. Eh? We completely dominated the game with 11 men and could easily have been 2 or 3 up. But we weren't 2 or 3 up. man. Please stop being a tool. Exactly. We had 45mins to go 1-0 up and we couldn't. They took their chances and we didn't. No matter which way you look at it it's a truly disgraceful result and, in the past when the club actually had dignity, this result was a sackable offence. Any loss to these c***s was. No. You cant expect a side with 10 men to outscore an opposition who were already sitting back and have just been gifted a penalty & an extra player man. What level of bizarre expectations are those. Seriously. We outplayed them, we could've created more. But you always get games like this when teams sit back endlessly.
  14. Would need to see his whole record. He might just be a really s*** ref. Its all here: Go back a couple seasons & he fucking loves a red card. http://www.soccerbase.com/referees/referee.sd?referee_id=1189&season_id=143
  15. They were always going to get men behind the ball like that though with Allardyce, they had nothing going forwards. Sunderland have done the 0-0 routine before with the exact same players against better opposition than us. Its when they attack in games they get taken apart.
  16. Look at the refs last two games reffed for us. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-fc-yahoo/obvious-handball-goes-unpunished-as-southampton-holds-on-for-2-1-win-over-newcastle-222518378.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29233096 (Red for abeid) He has 2 red cards & a missed penalty call in the last 3 games hes reffed against us. Dodgy as fuck man.
  17. Think this too. They're extremely bad, we're significantly better. For the first time in ages im fully confident that we're the better side by far, we could destroy them at home. They've completely lucked out and a one off decision & were outplayed for the majority of the game. 3 breaks & 3 goals v 10 men.
  18. McClaren is a coward. Hes done nowt wrong. Mitrovic missed a sitter.
  19. Fucking shit game. We will absolutely destroy them at the home fixture. We're the far better side.
  20. Can we just take a moment to mention how much of a complete joke Adam Johnson is running around like that
  21. What the fuck was Janmaat doing when Defoe was running towards him. Why would you back off with no threat around you whatsoever. Hes caused that pass on his own, awful defending from Janmaat.
  22. Every game we get this absolute spacker pretending hes not biased as fuck.
  23. Players do that all the time though. If thats obstruction, its obstruction everytime a player lays the ball off and moves across the pass of the opposition player so they cant close it down quickly. It is a massively common move in football. Shoulder to shoulder is seen as a strength battle, thats it.
