You'd hope Cabaye would be well up for this

Nah. His wording is atrocious.
-
Agree, cant see how anyone can disagree its completely laughable when he comes out with this bollocks.
-
Aye thats my worry, we need the solid Santon today big time
-
Only the first sending off involved any luck for us. Anyway, im sure we'll all have many games where we start poorly & dont win 5-1 to save having to discuss the issue after a big win like. We reacted well after some good fortune, hopefully it adds to our belief to win games after losing the lead anyway.

Whys there a player called Ba on Sunderlands bench
-
Walcott is always our issue. High line vs his pace. If we can keep him quiet we've a much better chance. Pards will be watching their 0-0 with Chelsea 3x a night you'd imagine.

Had this been one of ours, especially after recently scoring the winner in the derby they'd be wishing him dead. Pure class tho marra, unlike them dirty mags. Its equally as bad to use the situation to try to score points over what they would/wouldnt do surely?
-
Shame Norwich couldnt help us out today. Hull did well but people wanting Bruce? Really?
-
1st half against Southampton we played some lovely lovely stuff, we went through on goal one point after a series of one touch passing. We we can open sides up. Pards just tries to work solely on counter in 2nd halves when we're winning, generally it works but makes a game difficult. A couple times now its cost us points.

 Thats not Alan Pardew man.

Exactly - Lets move on

eh, we're 6 points off top aren't we? Yeah. Where would they be without a loss to Sunderland, 0-0 against Palace, Cardiff & West Brom. Failing to score against those 4 with the players he has is not top class is it? You can find their & his faults as we do with Pards. Its easier to ignore them when you focus on the good that you see. no sorry, tell me how everton should be far and awayy from us when man city, arsenal, chelsea etc. aren't please Eh? I just explained it to you You havent contradicted me, you're just stating that other clubs/managers have had their issues to - which i fully agree with. why should i be contradicting you? you said they should be far and away from us, i'm wondering how you came to that conclusion If Martinez is that much better than Pardew, he should be doing better than Pardew? Theres 1 point difference, its all well and good predicting how long that will last but at the moment they are getting equal levels of results & are respected at very different levels on here. Just as you can find Pardews faults, you can find Martinez's. All managers have issues. Man City's manager cannot get them motivated for away games, Jose sent away their best striker & then moans about lack of striking options when he barely gives Ba a proven prem striker a chance, Martinez is not getting the best from Lukaku. Our manager takes off Anita whos absolutely mint & is overly negative in 2nd halves etc. you're repeating yourself, martinez took over at a new club 5 months ago, drafted in half a new team and is within a point or so of pardew read into that what you f***ing will Martinez took over a side who sit around that level consistantly anyway & has a better side at his disposal. Ive no problem repeating myself if you keep responding as if you're confused mate.

Aye, but you could look at it in such a way that hes also gone to a pretty settled & well set up side already. Far more consistant than we've been over the years. The first teams are close, but i reckon they shade it. Certainly looking at results alone, is Martinez deserving of so much praise over Pards given the 1 point difference? He may improve them further, but he is using more loans to achieve it also & our football has been improved aswell. That said i do think he is the better manager but its interesting to consider. Easier to praise managers from the outside isnt it. But Martinez hasn't nearly relegated a squad of this caliber. He also won the FA cup with an abysmal one. Then obviously there's the enjoyment of watching a side playing what I would consider "good football". There's far more than just looking at a table and saying "what's the difference between the 2 of them then?" There will undoubtedly be an element of fool's gold looking from the outside, but most things about Martinez and Everton to me suggests he would be my preferred manager. He is the guy who only got the best out of Wigan when they were near relegated every season though & only then. Little consistancy, leading eventually to relegation. The cup win was v impressive & he is playing some lovely stuff with them atm. They're very hard to beat, as is shown in their few losses. They've had a lot of games without scoring though, which is where they've lost points. Is he getting the most with a striker like Lukaku at his disposal? They should be far & away from us, but they're not. Id also say some of the stuff we've played recently has matched anything they've come up with. Our issue is Pards negative lesser style of being grateful if we hold onto a win rather than having the attitude of us having a truly dominant side.

It is interesting to note our position in comparison to Evertons now & the respect given to managers of both sides. We've both beaten Man Utd & Chelsea, both drawn with Pool & lost to City. They could only draw with Spurs where we won, yet they beat us in our game. Now 1 point apart. Surely if Martinez is the much better manager he must be working with inferior players? Id say we line up position for position something like: Newcastle Everton Krul Howard Debuchy Coleman Williamson Jagielka Coloccinni Distin Santon Baines/Oviedo Gouffran Mirallas Tiote Barry Anita Mccarthy Cabaye Barkley Sissoko Pienaar Remy Lukaku Very debatable. Id say Everton have the stronger defence & strikeforce. The midfield is a close call.
-
Its unlikely we win without it, but it happened & we did. Just hope it adds to our belief for future games & our ability to come back if we lose the first goal. Thats been our main weakness under Pards. There are other niggling issues, but hes getting more right than wrong now. The wrongs are just easier to see.
-
Fully believe in the "making your own luck" concept. Wouldnt use that against Pards. We're doing very well, there are still issues but most clubs will have them. The turnaround has been outstanding really & has come from beating some top sides.

Happy Xmas lads & lasses, get drunk & enjoy yourselves !

fair point. Though Pool games only the last game of the season, maybe we prepare really really early.

Bit awkward taking notes on liverpools weaknesses while you sit next to Gerrard mind. If we come out & man mark everyone but suarez we'll know somethings gone wrong.
