  1. Sackable season for fraudiola if they win nowt tbf
  2. I don't think it's any less or more fair personally. A pretty reasonable way of deciding over the course of a season who is better IMO. Only thing I dislike about it limits variable permeatations at this stage of the season and can end things earlier. When GD is particularly close this can be more exciting. However the goal difference gap is huge in this case so it's not really made any difference but flip it in Milan's favour instead.
  3. I remember going into the away game convinced we'd lose. We scabbed win there and haven't looked back, while they've collapsed completely.
  4. Yeah it's all on BT Sport in the UK
  5. We haven't, no, but proper clubs usually do. And we're one of them again.
  6. Thanks for this. Be interesting to see if the club do a season review DVD (even blu ray?) this year. Would be a really good watch.
  7. Wasn't sure about the idea of Ekikite for big money but with Dortmund interested I've got more faith. They haven't really got it very wrong with forwards in recent years. Even the likes of Immobile who didn't work out was hardly a poor signing.
  8. It's more that Napoli paid 67.5 million pounds for him that means, while still on a decent contract length, he will inevitably cost a % more than that.
  9. I don't think when we got him we were convinced as a long term option, hence why rumours of Lodi etc have persisted. However he's played so well that it's almost made it difficult to justify not signing him. It's probably true that he's a player good enough for top 10/8 but not top 4/6. However any other big signing in that position would also be a gamble. I think getting him in for consistency and knowing it isn't really a risk is absolutely worth it. Then prioritise improving other positions for now.
  10. I'm a firm defendant of the blackout and believe not televising endless amounts of football is a good thing in general - but I do struggle to understand why all the games aren't televised on the last day. There is no other lower league football on and it would hardly damage attendances in the PL to show them all.
  11. Yeah there does appear to be a dearth of potential centre forward signings. I remember around 2010-2012 there being loads of big name forwards at European clubs who were talked about and all went on to make big moves. Aguero, Suarez, Falcao, Cavani etc. Even at a lower level the likes of Giroud and Aubameyang in Ligue 1. I'm not convinced by Nunez from what I've seen of him. Certainly not at the prices quoted.
  12. Massive point for Burnley that tbf.
  13. I think it'll be about 150 mill with 20-30 mill recouped in sales
  14. Can you imagine how physically ill Celtic fans are watching this? Think the hour or so where the mackems were ahead in the League Cup final was the worst of my life.
  15. I remember reading a while back that it's also a well trodden path as Germany is one of the European countries which gives Japanese players the least culture shock - in terms of orderliness, cleanliness, infrastructure etc.
  16. I'm 29 and my career up until now has generally been upwards financially - although I have turned down job offers because the increase in pay wasn't enough to justify the poorer work life balance. I know absolutely loads of people who have taken pay cuts though. Even in my office there is people who left other roles elsewhere for less pay but better work-life balance. I have a close friend who literally left the job I do now, taking a financial hit, to pursue his own business full time. I'm amazed somebody would think it literally doesn't happen.
  17. Plenty of people take a pay cut for numerous reasons. For an easier commute, to live somewhere more interesting, for better working hours and holidays, to do a different kind of work, to work on more a interesting projects in the same sphere, because they think it will lead to better long term options etc. There is literally endless reasons and I know people who have done it - and many more again who have turned down pay rises because it wasn't worth it l That's in normal jobs with normal pressures and life struggles. At that level of football you're literally so wealthy already that you actually have complete freedom to choose a career path you want, live where you want and build a legacy you want to leave without even having to think about finances.
  18. In terms of outgoings there will be some who are going to be going regardless (Ritchie, Clark, Gayle etc). Then I think there will be a large chunk of the squad who are effectively for sale if the offer is right - and we'll sell whoever we can get fees for. This is probably the last chance you're gonna get anything for Miggy at 28 so it might be worth cashing in. However equally if there is a bigger markets for more traditional domestic wide players like Fraser/Murphy then we'd perhaps push them out the door first. Without knowing wages it is difficult to know exactly who will be easiest to shift.
  19. That is comical like. Delaney wrote similarly starry eyed stuff about his beloved Man United when it was rumoured that PIF were looking to buy them. There is undoubted journalistic reasons to scrutinise the takeover and the nature of football ownership in general in Europe - but the ones shouting loudest really are such embittered arseholes that they cannot be taken seriously.
  20. I disagree about Ba being overrated, he was quality. Definitely agree about Cabaye though. Could ping a great set piece and play a great pass but he was massively a moments player for me. Couldn't really dribble with the ball and physically never dominated games - I think you need at least one of the two to be a top class modern centre mid. One who shines brighter because of the era he played in.
  21. Even if it's an OG that goal doesn't happen with Wood there instead of Wilson. What a difference he makes.
  22. I swear Schar has more serious head collisions than any player I've ever seen.
  23. You're referring to people as if they are one homogenous being. What a bizarre thing to say. I doubt anybody applauding the knee is also being racially abusive.
