I'm reading 'A Season With Verona' at the moment (haven't touched it in a bit actually) and it gives quite an insight into the attitudes of the people in Verona. It is a right wing city and the Hellas fans are essentially right-wing but the extent of it is exaggerated in the Italian media. The rest of Italy view Verona as 'backward' while the Veronese have an 'us against the rest' kind of attitude.
