We are sort of spluterring (not a word I know) over the line at the moment but in Pardew's defence I just don't think he wants to make drastic changes with us still in with a shout or Europa League (whether this is counterproductive is another argument). I reckon he should've made the transition to better/passing football earlier in the season and I said the same when we were on our unbeaten streak (can't remember if I posted it on here though ). If we were midtable with nothing to play for I reckon Pardew would try to improve the style (although I'm not 100% sure, he does seem pretty cautious...) I'll be more critical of Pardew if we had three more continental players in the summer like Cabaye and we're still not playing better football.

In that specific situation Simpson should definitely have hoofed it.

He was poor last night for me. Still only 21 though (keep forgetting he's this young), you can see with the likes of Jones and Savic ( ) that mistakes and youth go hand in hand.

Outside of Ben Arfa, Ba and (seemingly) Cisse we haven't got any goal scorers up to scratch, basically. Best and Shola aren't good enough to start. Fortunately we won't be deprived of both Cisse and Ba any time soon.....

I'm not on about regular criticism, obviously everyone has to expect that. I'm on about the s*** like he should drop down dead etc. etc. the sort of s*** you seen on twitter as well as on here sometimes (whether attention seeking or otherwise....), its fair enough saying ignoring them but it still pisses me off and I'm not sure Simpson will be loving it either... Call it a holier-than-thou post or w/e you want, I couldn't care less, don't care about being insulted either, just think its harsh on some of the players.

I can't really remember his actually getting the ball that much after his goal to be honest May be slightly true for that game but I'd give it a few more before coming to any sort of conclusions like that.

Poor play in the corner at the end and someone should've dragged Van Persie down on halfway at the end, even if it had to be Jonas.
