Might it be worth having a simple Win-Draw-Loss poll in each of the pre-match threads next season? Could end up doing some charts and that, although I can't be arsed to do them like, don't get me wrong.

I guess you're right but as you said to begin with, taking over a team just before a tournament with minimal preparation is far from ideal so you'd hope Hodgson would be given a bit of leeway, although we all know he won't. Quarter finals would represent a big success this summer, that's where we're at. If we go out at the group stages then Hodgson still needs a full 2 year cycle to try to stamp his mark on the team, any other reaction would be pretty farcial.

It's surely not a foregone conclusion that Hodgson will get the job like, must be a fair possibility that he won't impress them in the interview. It's happened before with the likes of Martin O'Neill, hasn't it?
