  1. Didn't Fergie start against W.B.A at left back ? Ryan Taylor started in central midfield in the final 2 games of last season. And we can afford to sell half of our first team and rely on players with highly questionable fitness records as an alternative.
  2. Letting Joey Barton go on a free and fannying about over buying a new left back when Ryan Taylor has started our last 4 league games ffs. And that's ignoring the need for a striker and the lack of cover at the back. We need to keep our fingers crossed that the injured players in our squad overcome their problems, because we're selling players that were playing week-in, week-out last season and taking another huge gamble.
  3. Because we shouldn't have to take these risks and leave these gaping holes, in the position the club is now in?
  4. This is true but tbf he has brought that all on himself, as Super Dave Osborne used to say "Mike your a putz" I don't think it is true. If he buys a LB, CB, midfielder and striker next week and they strengthen our first team and squad then many including me will shut the fuck up and get on with the season. People keep treating these things as isolated incidents which is completely mind-blowing - it's been bad decision after bad decision, with too few good ones and too much fucking around in the transfer market when we should have money in our pocket from all of the players we've sold. The one consistent theme is a lack of ambition and doing things on the cheap above all else.
  5. It's about where we're at right now, and we're far weaker if/when he leaves.
  6. Yet mike Ashley paid out a record amount in bonuses to his staff at sports direct, an average £44k for a full time worker in one of the worst periods retail has ever gone through in this country. I thought someone might mention this but it's a different kettle of fish anyway. Fair enough, he didn't have to give out those bonuses but the business had just made a massive profit. It was the first positive PR I'd ever seen with regards to working at Sports Direct and the general perception is that they're poorly paid and made to work in fairly shit working conditions. Anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. And that £44k thing is massively misleading, there's no chance a £15k/year worker got £60k last year because the company performed well, so it's more than likely that the vast majority went to executives and management. It's like saying the average NUFC worker gets £20k/week and applying it to club shop workers.
  7. Howay man, the club couldn't have made him feel more marginalised and unwanted. Except they could have made him continue to train with the kids over the last couple of weeks. But they didn't because we needed him as he's a good player. That's the point here, that we're not treating our best players with any class or respect. It'll happen to Tiote, Collocini and Ben Arfa one day and there'll still be an element of 'greedy Judas cunt' about it, and the cycle continues but we stand still, or worse go backwards. This no-nonsense, non-negotiable, classless bullshit might work fine with minimum wage workers with no option but to shut up and accept it, but you need a more flexible approach with valued professional footballers and also other football clubs who want to hang on to their assets or at least get a decent fee for them. If Obertan's meant to be Barton's replacement then it's a fucking joke and we've lost out.
  8. Straight from our first team to another club on a free for no reason. Absolute fucking morons man.
  9. Yeah, that Ronaldo goal's fantastic. How harsh are the rules on football videos on here? Is it a blanket ban? Is a clip from our promotion season in 92/93 season going to cause much damage? Anyway, search for 'Newcastle United 1992-93 Season Review - Part Four' on YouKnowWhat and see Rob Lee's goal again at around 13:11.
  10. The greatest disallowed goal of all time? http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/aug/23/greatest-disallowed-goal-all-time Some good ones in the article and I immediately thought of Rob Lee's vs Brentford in 92/93, which is also mentioned in a few of the comments.
  11. Fucking hell, he gets these emails out quick, it's almost like losing is pre-meditated.

  14. None of the links are working, are the mods deleting loads of threads? If they're trying to delete all of the threads where ridiculous expectations were expressed they'll be there all night.
  15. Hitler tried to convince African Americans to turn on America and help the German army during the 2nd world war. Oh right, weird that one didn't work out like.
  16. Not really. Close to, but starting no strikers of any description can't have helped their play. Decided to give his whole midfield a run-out. Thing is the 5-1 sparked a bit of a revival for them last year, would love to see them sink like a stone this time around.
  17. Your lack of respect for Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior is very offensive. You are clearly not someone who cannot be taken seriously. Shut your face. He's just giving him a blowjob man, live and let live.
  18. Agree that KaKa's a Hitler fanboy who loves Africans like, it's quite clear really.
  19. It was the implication that the kid only breaks into a smile once in a blue moon that got me, is it really that fucking grim in Sunderland?

  21. At least the daft mackem cunts forced the game into extra time, there'll be a moral victory in there somewhere I'd have thought.
  22. 0-0 but the mackems are murdering them, Brighton can count themselves lucky that it's not double figures.
  23. Had an absolute whale of a time watching that like.
