It does seem bizarre that England would get an additional place in the EL because we had a team win the CL. I always just assumed that Chelsea would take the 4th CL spot, so the League EL spot would go from 5th place to 4th place, and 5th place became EL due to the FA Cup place going to league. Ah well, never mind. We're in Europe. All that matters.

With the season coming to a close, i've just been watching a few highlights videos from this season, and there's so many classic moments from this season that had totally slipped my mind. He's the classic example of how being managed well can influence a player. He was totally fucked about by Inter and looked a shadow of his first season, and was hoyed out on loan. Pards could have thrown him in the deep end, but chose to let him bide his time, the odd game here and there and when it was the right time, made him a regular starter. Since then he hasn't looked back. Looking forward to a full season of him next year, and really hope we can bring in another equally as talented full back for the other flank.
