You dont have to. Say no to him, he's got a year left - get another season out of him and in the meantime buy some players in the summer, show ambition, push on next season and he might change his mind at the end if he see's progress. its a rare club indeed that wouldn't sell a player when they're contracts up a year from now and they weren't interested in signing a new deal
