He later said that he wants him to go on loan, not cut him off completely, because he needs to play more football than he'd have if he stayed. But yeah, it looks like he doesn't see much in him.
-
We want him Jesus fuck We have an obsession with youth prospects that got away, and the local media has completely convinced themselves he would be a new Piqué. That South American youngster you have is so much better Araújo? Yes, he's been quietly impressive. He's still raw though, he's not going to be plug-and-play.

I don't know, league results seemed "normal" when European leagues were resumed behind closed doors. I think the nearly nonexistant preseason has more to do with it.
-
Amazing stat. I'm still in doubt whether it's great or terrible
-
Man, Fati is going to be such a star if we don't fuck him up.

We've moved on Vidal, Semedo, Rakitic and Suárez (we're still paying part of his wages this season, but still big savings), while only bringing in Dest. The savings in wages are massive. People are still projecting a €100m hole this season, mind. Having 0 matchday revenue is a huge hit.

Yeah Mendes and the Wolves owner are lining their pockets with Wolves' money, since they get a cut of all these transfers. I presume the fact that the team has performed really well has kept things quiet with Wolves fans, but it's quite scandalous. Of course then the PL goes and bounces back your takeover.
-
What's Semedo like? Got a Wolves supporting friend who is interested to know. He's been quite inconsistent, tbf, but has had great flashes. Maybe with more stability he could flourish. By all means he's a good player. Attacking-minded, but not as gung-ho as people thought at first, he has decent defensive positioning. Again, he's been very unconsistent but the fact he never nailed down the starting berth hasn't helped.

According to a local news channel (which I quite trust for Barça news), we've reached a deal for Dest (20+5). Semedo will also move to Wolves today for 30+10

The board is trying to get a transfer fee from Atlético. Still think the move will be completed. The exam thing is hilarious, Italian police getting involved, I presume cheating on a citizenship exam is a kinda serious offence
-
So, was the goals record broken?
-
I think the issue is that despite passing the exam his Italian passport wouldn't have been ready in time. I do wonder why he never went and got a proper EU passport during all his career in Europe.
-
Morata is going to Juve to make room for Suárez to move to Atlético. Looking forward to a Costa / Suárez forward line, disgusting in both good and bad ways
-
Wilshere even before his injuries I thought he was the kind of player that always looks good, but his actual influence on games is a little suspect. But that's the kind of thing you get better at with age and experience, and his injuries kinda wrecked that. A shame.

Also, a lot of transfers have trophy bonuses attached to them too, not just player wages. Barça and Madrid had massive bills this decade with all their CL wins. We had to take a loan to pay all the bonuses during Luís Enrique's treble season. In general for a club winning a trophy is bad for the bottom line, in the short term (growing your stature and commercial appeal outweights it in the long term, of course).

This prevents large football nations to cap-tie prospects just in case they end up becoming superstars playing for somebody else. A 18 year old asked to play for Spain will always say yes, and may lose out on a long international career just because he thought he was good enough (which any 18 year old is wont to do). I think all the limitations make it pretty acceptable.
-
FIFA to change rules to allow capped footballers to become eligible for another nation if: - They were already eligible for that new nation when they were first capped - Have had no caps since they reached 21 years of age. - It's been 3 years since their last cap - Have not played in a senior international tournament It's a good change, imho, and will help young players that are "cap-tied" by big nations but then forgotten (i.e. Munir)

We truly have not a bucket to pee on

It's not exactly that. If they get kicked out they'll avoid responsiblity for the 2020-2021 season which is forecasted to be quite disastrous given that we won't have any kind of matchday income in the near future. I'm also quite skeptical about La Liga being able to carry out the season, given the likelihood of covid infections in the teams' squads.
-
The motion of no confidence against Barcelona's board has gathered enough support from the membership and will be put to a vote at some point during October. It will likely pass, unless Covid puts turnout below the required 15% for a valid vote. The whole thing is, to be frank, quite pointless since there's an election already scheduled for March, and the motion of no-confidence at best will bring that forward a couple of months.

Zidane has beef with Reguilón, rumor goes. Allegedly some conflict with one of Zidane's sons when both played for the B team.

I'd love Dest. We'll see if it's true...
