  1. Indeed, for once PC-ness has served a higher purpose.
  2. Good, I thought that ad was an awful idea
  3. Will Villa be fit for the Euros? Last reports have him back for late April. If he's fit, he should go. Even during his bad patch this season his Spain form was still good.
  4. Soldado is so obviously the best classic centreforward in Spain there should be no discussion about getting him in the plane. I'm sorry for Nando, he was one of the best in the world 3 years ago, but he just can't get out of the hole. Soldado/Villa/Llorente for our ST spots. Three completely different players, all class.
  5. Regarding Athletico, who would you regard as having the better youth / feeder system between them and Barcelona? Atlético or Athletic? I suppose you meant the second since Atlético's youth setup isn't all that (they produced Raúl, though). Athletic's youth setup is certainly one of the best, and at times has been the best in Spain. They need it to be one of the best, since they need the best Basque players they can get. During the 1980s-90s the Spanish NT routinely had 5-8 players produced by them, and the squad playing against Venezuela has 4. But nowadays, ours is better, even if only because of the difference in the catching areas. Messi wasn't born in Barcelona... (although a foreign boy that had resided in Bilbao since bairn to be part of their youth setup would be considered "Basque" they only fish in their immediate area).
  6. It will be a shame, second oldest stadium in Spanish professional football, the only stadium that has seen all the editions of La Liga... but it couldn't be expanded and the new stadium will allow the club to grow.
  7. Also, I know it's just Venezuela, but at Spain right now.
  8. Haven't Switzerland been dire since that win against us, anyway?
  9. Work is ongoing at San Mamés Barria, Atlético's new home has hit some problems as a Madrid court has put limitations on the rezoning of the soil where the Calderón is built. The city council is supposed to buy the Calderón and use it to expand the neighboring road and redevelop the area, in exchange of funding the new stadium.
  10. Yes, they have the finance in place but work has yet to restart, as the project will be modified and some replanning is needed, plus they are looking to sell the naming rights. They have set a Jan 2014 date for the opening though.
  11. VI, you get my point. Didnt mean defensive, but meant best back four in the world. We have in my opinion the best defender in the world with thiago Silva and the two best offensive fullbacks in the world. We also have Dede who is an up and coming defender who is absolutely a beast on his day. And I disagree with you, I think the lack of experience from the European leagues is what will win us the WC. Domestic players will be the ones to carry this team, or at least I hope it will be. Away from Spain, I dont see Brazilian players gaining anything in footballing terms from the European leagues. And Santos put up as good of a fight (in other words nothing at all) against Barcelona as any other decent team around Europe would do and that with the worst defenders in South America. I don't mean playing in Europe as "becoming better" rather than getting used to play against tougher opposition, and getting used to systems that rely more on tactical disposition than individual skill. Every time I watch the current Brazilian side it strikes to me that they lack that.
  12. Headers are free goals to me, the only thing I do well apart from turn-and-shoots
  13. An study carried by a Spanish university points Unai Emery as the best "pound-for-pound" manager in La Liga, when trying to measure on-pitch results compared to the resources available. Mourinho finished 8th and Guardiola 11th.
  14. The Mancunian Candidate had me on stitches, for some reason
  15. give you alves but wouldn't say for sure marcelo is one of the best RBs Granted, he isn't in the form he was last year, but offensively he's the best LB in the world in my opinion. Defensively (and that was the point I was trying to make), he's average at best.
  16. Alves and Marcelo are surely two of the best RBs in the world, but certainly aren't part of any kind of "world's best defensive back 4" by the slightest. Anyway, Brazil looks good on paper, but yesterday as usual they looked just a collection of players trying to winning the game by themselves and getting into each other. And I think the lack of experience in strong leagues isn't a benefit for a lot of your players. It was only a couple games, but Santos left me with a pretty poor impression of the level of the Brazilian league in the CWC.
  17. Takes me very few games to get to the prem. Basically as soon as an agent lights up...he'll take you. So get your training done (after every game) and pick one who has a good contact level. You can chop and change agents constantly. I sack them like a ruthless b******. As to finding a club...ignore the warnings about fans and team-mates hating you. Who cares...you're moving on. If there's no offers (or ones that aren't a move up)...try again or take the lads to a night club. That'll keep things sweet. And ignore lasses until later on when you get that tv presenter etc. They're just baggage. Again...realistic I'm far too much into this piece of s*** Dave and Wormy showing me mousebreaker Thanks for the advice, got myself into Aston Villa in no time Also got Abi Clamsea
  18. I have 7.5 average and I'm stuck in league 1, no offers whatsoever. Only 3/10 in interest from other clubs. What do I need to do? Got the best agent I can afford at this time, asked him to do publicity, even tried to get him get me a new club.
  19. Or it might be the time of the season where international footballers pick up 3-day injuries before a friendly.
  20. "As" reporting that Mou has bought a house in London. They are linking him with all London clubs for the summer. They even go and claim he has held talks with Spurs.
  21. Only six wins, somehow I thought they were doing better despite the stoneage tactics.
  22. Doing a great job there, but I'm sure he's the kind of manager that would struggle at a more ambitious club, Espanyol's offensive play is pretty uninspiring.
  23. Lluís Carreras from Sabadell (already linked with the Barça job, which is madness, but he's been doing great things there). Sandoval from Rayo, who are great this season despite not having a pot to p*ss on. Josep Guardiola.
