What I am going at is that Spurs just lost their only midfield player that knows what to do with a ball for a couple months, and their answer is to swap Jenas for Muntari. (if the deal is true, of course)
-
Yet Redknapp wants to sign a player that has even less!
-
I'd be delighted with that. Spurs pissing away £5m AND a player for a player who can't pass, shoot, cross, or think on his feet. Dude, Muntari aint that bad. Muntari>>>Jenas He's one of the thickest players I've ever forced myself to watch... he's in great shape, but that's about all he has to offer. Even in an Inter side that just thumped Milan 4-0 he still looks gash. As much as I hate to say it, I'd rather have Jenas. Jenas+£5m for that oaf is an absolute joke. I really hope the deal goes through. I'll laugh my tits off. Jenas is a far better footballer than Muntari.Muntari is a better athlete though. That's about the sum total of it. I can understand why 'Arry wants to put someone physical into the middle of the park but at that price AND losing Jenas you'd have to say it's a VERY good deal for Inter. He could get the same physical qualities for half the price if he shops around in Ligue 1. What kind of creativity would Tottenham's midfield have with Muntari in and Jenas out? Might as well just line up 4-2-4 and hoof it.

To be honest, I support a big club but I'm still sick and tired of the same old same old always challenging for silveware every year. La Liga has devolved into a joke two team tournament. When I was a kid you'd see the likes of Bilbao, Real Sociedad, Atlético, Deportivo... challenging and winning the title. It was much more entertaining.

Bleh, no Iniesta for tonight either, Guardiola doesn't want to rush him after his injury.

Barcelona-style takeover? When did we get taken over? -
Jenas is hardly a world-beater, but it's way more complete than Muntari. But Muntari's been at Pompey, so I guess that's a plus.

I just reached for my leg and caressed my tibia upon watching that graph.

Problem has been his wages. I assume only way Monaco would have him on his books is on a free.

Our press is saying the same. No quotes or source though. Strange business for him, shitty business for us (why am I not surprised). I've seen it all now when a Barcelona fan is bemoaning his club at the loss of a fringe player. It's not the loss on itself (his playing time is better used for youngsters), but the fact how we are absolutely uncapable of doing any kind of good business regarding transfers. Even Real was able to get 5m for Saviola. We have to even pay the fuel to drive the player to his next club. And it's always, always like that. How much did you get for Ronaldinho? €20m+5m in clauses (not sure if they triggered). Actually that was ok business. Rivaldo, for example, went on a free after a similar falling from grace.

Catalan TV just caught Guardiola's instructions to the team just before the ET in the European Supercup. Straight off a Hollywood movie speech. I might translate it if they post it online.

Ohh, injured, banned? What's the craic? He's with Argentina to play against Brazil. He asked permission to miss the league game.
-
No Messi though. Still should be 3-1 or whereabouts. We are famous slow starters, mind. (got 1 point in the first 2 games last season against weak opposition).

Isn't Pienaar right-footed?

Good try (no sarcasm), but Barça's youth setup is known as "La Masia" (it would be "La Cantera" anyway). The concern is that Henry really has no understudy, and if you buy, you should always aim to improve the incumbent. We were fantastically lucky last year with injuries, lack of depth is going to be a concern this year.

Where does Tottingham get all that money from anyway? They aren't that big of a club to support that kind of spending. Although they seem to be able to resell at good prices.

we? I need a less obscure avatar I guess.

Great start for us this season as Espanyol goes down 1-0.

Spanish press reporting we have had a €40m bid for Robinho refused.

Can't wait to go to the Camp Nou tomorrow for my yearly Barça game.

Even with Modric fubared? Bentley could do a job for Tottenham now.
-
These past 4 years, every time I have been in town and Barça has played a home game, I have gone to the Camp Nou. That's two games, mind. (actually, make that 3, I caught the home leg of the Milan CL semifinal the year we won it)

considering the state pompy are in who could blame him Just pointing out - no sign of David James in the Portsmouth game today. Not even on the bench. Knee injury.
